Preloved Watches: Carousell vs Chrono24 vs Komehyo, SG vs HK vs Japan

Preloved is where the real luxury watch market is for most Singapore buyers in 2026, so compare Carousell, Chrono24 and Komehyo, then buy through ShopBack before you pay, where ShopBack Cashback works like a discount, only easier than a promo code. AD allocation still keeps Rolex steel sports, Patek Nautilus, and AP Royal Oak out of reach on retail channels; the secondary market is where the transactions happen. But secondary market pricing is opaque: Carousell Singapore, Chrono24, Watchbox, Hong Kong's Granville Road dealers, and Japan's Komehyo, Amore, and Jackroad each operate slightly different price bands, condition grading, and authentication protocols. This guide covers how the three markets compare for pre-owned Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Omega in 2026, and where the real arbitrage sits after trip costs and returning-Singaporean GST.

The verdict

For a Singapore buyer in 2026, Japan preloved (Komehyo, Amore, Jackroad) is the cheapest source for most Rolex, AP, and Omega references, roughly 5 to 15% below Carousell Singapore for equivalent condition. Hong Kong grey and preloved (Granville Road, Sino Centre) is close to Japan on price, often 5 to 12% below SG Carousell for hyped references. Singapore Carousell offers the fastest transaction and lowest logistics friction, with condition grading variance and self-driven authentication as the main downsides. Chrono24 sits above all three on average listed price but has the deepest inventory globally and strong dealer buyer-protection tiers. The single biggest determinant of a preloved watch purchase is authentication, not price; a 10 to 20% saving is worthless if the piece turns out to be fake, franken, or aftermarket-modified. Prioritise trusted channels and pay for authentication on high-value pieces.

ShopBack utility. Carousell, Chrono24 and the Japan dealers are not on ShopBack. Where ShopBack fits is the trip: go through the Trip.com, Agoda or Klook page on ShopBack before you book flights, hotels or transfers so part of the cost comes back.

Where the preloved price differences come from

Preloved luxury watch pricing across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan in 2026 comes from five levers.

Lever 1: Local supply and demand. Japan's domestic supply of Rolex, AP, Cartier, and Grand Seiko preloved inventory is deep because the domestic buyer base has been large for decades and the AD system has been more accessible historically. Hong Kong's grey market has been thick since the 1990s as a parallel-import hub for Asia. Singapore's grey and preloved market has grown fast since 2015 but remains smaller in absolute inventory than either Hong Kong or Japan. Thicker markets translate to keener pricing on the seller side (dealers compete on price) and clearer condition grading (established dealer reputations).

Lever 2: FX and cross-border arbitrage. JPY/SGD near a 52-week weak-yen high in 2026 (roughly 125 to 128 JPY per SGD) compounds the Japan advantage on JPY-denominated preloved listings. HKD/SGD tracks USD/SGD via the peg; HKD listings sit close to USD-parity, which in 2026 is neutral to slightly favourable to a SGD buyer. Singapore Carousell listings are in SGD, so no FX arbitrage; the pricing directly reflects seller expectations against SG new retail plus grey premium.

Lever 3: Tax treatment on preloved. Japan's 10% consumption tax refund applies to unworn (new old stock) preloved at registered tax-free dealers; used-condition preloved may or may not qualify depending on dealer classification. Hong Kong has no VAT, so preloved pricing is direct. Singapore Carousell peer-to-peer sales are outside GST (private resale exempt); dealer resales in Singapore include GST in the listed price. This creates a genuine SG-vs-Japan structural advantage on unworn preloved at Komehyo, Jackroad, and Amore, which is often 8 to 12% below equivalent Singapore Carousell listings after the tax refund.

Lever 4: Dealer authentication and warranty overhead. Reputable dealers (Watchbox, Bezel, Bob's Watches, Chrono24 Certified Preowned dealers) build authentication and typically 12 to 24 month dealer warranties into their pricing; expect 5 to 15% above raw peer-to-peer prices for that protection. Carousell SG is peer-to-peer without dealer overhead; the price is lower but the risk is on the buyer. Japan dealers like Komehyo and Amore fall between: dealer authentication, transparent grading, no dealer warranty typically, but the piece may still be within brand warranty period if recent.

Lever 5: Reference-specific supply dynamics. For hyped references (Submariner Date, GMT-Master II, Daytona, Royal Oak Selfwinding 15510ST, Nautilus 5711/5712), demand exceeds supply globally; pricing is coupled across markets and premiums range 15 to 60% above new retail. For non-hyped references (Datejust 41, Explorer 40, Air-King, Oyster Perpetual, Omega Aqua Terra, Speedmaster classic), supply exceeds demand; preloved trades 5 to 30% below new retail. Japan-domestic references (Grand Seiko, Seiko Credor, King Seiko) see the deepest preloved inventory in Japan itself with 20 to 40% below new retail typical.

Conversions use indicative rates: HKD/SGD ~0.172 to 0.174, JPY/SGD ~0.0078 to 0.0080. Carousell SG figures are private-seller listings for unworn or lightly worn condition with box, papers, and stickers; sold prices typically settle 3 to 8% below asking. Japan net-to-SG figures assume the 10% consumption tax refund applies (verify at dealer point of sale); if the refund does not apply on used-condition preloved, add 10% back to the Japan figure. Hong Kong figures are dealer-listed grey market prices at Granville Road and Sino Centre; sold prices typically settle 2 to 5% below asking through negotiation.

The readout: on hyped references (Submariner, GMT, Daytona, Royal Oak), Japan is cheapest but all three markets are well above new retail. On non-hyped references (Datejust, Explorer, Air-King, Speedmaster classic, Seamaster), Japan is cheapest and typically below new retail. Chrono24 Certified Preowned listings tend to sit 5 to 15% above Carousell SG for equivalent condition due to dealer authentication and warranty overhead.

How to use this

Buyer profile	Recommended path	Why
First preloved Rolex buyer in Singapore, non-hyped reference (Datejust, Explorer, OP)	Carousell SG or Chrono24 Certified Preowned SG-based dealer	Simple, local, in-person authentication possible; save S$1,000 to S$2,500 versus AD new
First preloved Rolex buyer, hyped reference (Submariner, GMT)	Japan Komehyo, Amore, or Jackroad during a planned Tokyo trip	5 to 15% below Carousell SG; book the trip through Klook and Agoda on ShopBack
Serious preloved collector building a piece set (Rolex + AP + JLC)	Combination: Japan trip for majority; Carousell SG for opportunistic finds; Chrono24 Escrow for specific hard-to-find references	Depth of Japan inventory; SG Carousell serendipity; Chrono24 global reach
Preloved AP Royal Oak buyer	Chrono24 Certified Preowned or Watchbox globally; Japan preloved dealers for tax-refund-eligible pieces	AP secondary market is thin locally; global platforms offer deeper inventory
Vintage watch buyer (pre-2010 references)	Ginza Rasin, Yukizaki, Bezel, Watchfinder UK, established Chrono24 vintage-specialist dealers	Vintage requires deep expertise on the dealer side; avoid Carousell for high-value vintage
Buyer prioritising warranty coverage	Chrono24 Certified Preowned with 12 to 24 month dealer warranty; or recent-year preloved with remaining brand warranty balance	Preloved with warranty coverage removes a major risk vector
Buyer trying to flip in 6 to 12 months	Japan Komehyo or Amore for hyped references at close-to-fair-market pricing; expect thin margins after fees	Reselling luxury watches as a private individual is legal but subject to declared-income and Customs scrutiny for repeat activity
Non-resident tourist visiting Singapore, buying preloved	Carousell SG or Chrono24 SG-dealers with eTRS-eligible sellers; TRS applies where dealer participates	9% GST refund possible on eligible dealer sales; check before purchase
Buyer of Omega and non-hyped Rolex only	Carousell SG or Japan Komehyo/Jackroad; skip AP for now	Omega preloved availability is deep at both; below new retail on both sides
Buyer prioritising after-sales in Singapore	Regardless of source, ensure the piece is within brand warranty or budget for one full service (S$800 to S$2,500 depending on brand and complexity) within 5 years	Rolex, Omega, AP service centres in Singapore honour international warranty and accept preloved pieces for fee-based service

The single biggest preloved buying mistake is prioritising the last 5% of price saving over authentication. Pay S$150 to S$400 for a third-party authentication (a trusted independent watchmaker or authentication service) on any S$10,000+ purchase from a peer-to-peer channel. On Chrono24 use their Buyer Protection and Escrow. On Carousell always meet in person and inspect box, papers, movement match, laser-etched crown, and serial number consistency before payment.

Authentication protocols, market by market

Carousell Singapore. Peer-to-peer marketplace with user ratings, account age, and in-app messaging. No native authentication. Best practice: meet in person at a public location (Ion Orchard basement, Suntec City, or a bank branch); require original box, warranty card with matching serial, service history if any, and ideally original AD invoice. Verify serial and reference number match across box, papers, and case-back or clasp/spring bar. Inspect movement through display case-back where applicable, and confirm movement architecture matches brand specs. For S$10,000+ pieces, pay a third-party authenticator (an independent watchmaker with brand expertise) S$150 to S$400 to inspect before you commit funds. Pay by bank transfer or PayNow at the meet-up; avoid cash for anti-fraud reasons.

Chrono24 international. Global marketplace with three tiers: private seller (no protection), verified dealer (identity-verified), and Certified Preowned (Chrono24-authenticated dealer with buyer protection and typically 12 to 24 month dealer warranty). Chrono24 offers Escrow service (Chrono24 holds funds; releases to seller after buyer confirms authentic piece); highly recommended for cross-border transactions. Buyer Protection covers photo evidence and dispute resolution. For high-value cross-border pieces (S$50,000+), consider paid third-party authentication by an independent watchmaker or authentication service before releasing escrow. Shipping and insurance costs are meaningful (S$150 to S$800 depending on destination and value).

Japan dealers (Komehyo, Amore, Jackroad, Ginza Rasin, Yukizaki). In-store purchases with dealer authentication built in; each of these dealers has established reputations spanning 20 to 60+ years. Condition grading is transparent and consistent within each dealer's own scale (unused, S rank, A rank, B rank, etc.). Passport required for tax-free processing where applicable. English service available at Ginza and Shinjuku flagships. Cash, JCB, Visa, MasterCard, and AmEx accepted. Some dealers offer 6 to 12 month in-house warranty on movement issues (verify at purchase). Post-sale, if brand warranty is still active, honoured worldwide including Singapore.

Hong Kong dealers (Granville Road Tsim Sha Tsui, Sino Centre Mong Kok). Dealer market with wide variance in professionalism. Established dealers with shopfronts offer clear authentication and dealer warranty. Street-level Granville Road dealers vary; some are excellent, some are cash-pressure sales floors. Bring cash HKD or use credit card where accepted. Bargaining is expected at street-level dealers (5 to 15% off asking is normal). For higher-value pieces (S$20,000+), stick to established dealers with physical addresses and paperwork rather than street-level walk-in sellers.

Pricing spread, brand by brand

Rolex. Preloved secondary market is deepest globally. Hyped models (Submariner, GMT-Master, Daytona) trade 15 to 60% above new retail; premiums have softened significantly from the 2021 to 2022 peak but remain firm because AD allocation still gates buyers out. Non-hyped models (Datejust, Explorer, Air-King, Oyster Perpetual) trade 5 to 30% below new retail depending on age and condition. Deep Rolex preloved inventory sits at Komehyo Shinjuku, Amore Ginza, Jackroad Nakano, and established Hong Kong dealers.

Audemars Piguet. Royal Oak family dominates the secondary market. Selfwinding 15510ST trades 30 to 70% above new retail; Chronograph 26240ST similar; Offshore variants sit at parity to 30% premium. Vintage discontinued references (15300ST, 15400ST, 15450ST) can be priced significantly higher than replacements due to specific dial and finish variants. AP secondary supply is thin globally; Chrono24 Certified Preowned and Watchbox carry the deepest inventory.

Omega. Secondary market pricing sits 10 to 25% below new retail on most current-production references; older references (pre-2020) trade 20 to 40% below new retail. Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch and Seamaster 300M are widely available on Carousell SG, Chrono24, and Japan preloved dealers. Discontinued and limited-edition Speedmaster references (Silver Snoopy, Apollo anniversary variants) can trade above new retail depending on rarity. Omega is generally the lowest-risk preloved purchase across all three markets: broadly available, easy to authenticate, and brand warranty spans 5 years.

Cross-border total-cost worked example

Scenario A: Single preloved piece, Carousell SG. Buyer wants a preloved Rolex Datejust 41 126334 with box and papers, 2023 to 2024 production, lightly worn.

Carousell SG asking price: S$15,000. Sold price after light negotiation: S$14,500. Third-party authentication by an independent watchmaker: S$250. Total S$14,750. Transaction time: 2 to 4 weeks from first browse to piece in hand.

Alternative: Japan preloved with planned Tokyo trip. Komehyo Shinjuku listing JPY 1,650,000 tax-inclusive; after 10% refund JPY 1,500,000; at 126 JPY/SGD equals S$11,905. Trip cost SIA economy S$1,000; 3 nights via Agoda S$1,000; meals and travel S$500; total S$2,500. Returning-SG GST 9% of S$11,405 = S$1,027. Total Japan landed: S$15,432.

Comparison: Japan lands slightly higher than Carousell SG (S$15,432 vs S$14,750) on a single-piece trip. Japan wins only if bolted onto a trip already planned or if stacking multiple pieces.

Scenario B: Two preloved pieces, Japan trip. Buyer wants a preloved Rolex Submariner Date 126610LN AND a preloved Rolex Datejust 41 126334.

Carousell SG combined: Submariner S$21,000 + Datejust S$14,500 + authentication S$400 = S$35,900.

Japan Komehyo/Amore combined: Submariner JPY 2,300,000 tax-inclusive, net JPY 2,090,000; Datejust JPY 1,650,000, net JPY 1,500,000. Total JPY 3,590,000. At 126 JPY/SGD = S$28,492. Trip S$2,500. Returning-SG GST 9% of S$27,992 = S$2,519. Total Japan landed: S$33,511.

Comparison: Japan saves roughly S$2,400 versus Carousell SG on the two-piece trip, with the added value of dealer authentication and transparent condition grading. On three pieces, the saving widens to S$4,000 to S$6,000.

Scenario C: Hong Kong grey-market trip. Buyer targets same two pieces at Granville Road Tsim Sha Tsui.

HK dealer combined: Submariner S$19,500 + Datejust S$13,500 = S$33,000. Cash preferred at street-level dealers; credit card may add 2 to 4% surcharge at some. Trip SIA HKIA round-trip S$500; 2 nights via Agoda S$700; meals and travel S$400; total S$1,600. Returning-SG GST 9% of S$32,500 = S$2,925. Total HK landed: S$37,525.

Comparison: HK lands higher than Japan on this two-piece run in 2026 due to slightly higher HK grey pricing and materially higher returning-SG GST (because the tax-refund advantage of Japan is not available in HK). HK's edge is inventory depth on specific references and the shorter travel time.

Across all three scenarios, the total-cost calculation is sensitive to whether you were going to travel anyway. Bolt watch shopping onto a Japan or Hong Kong trip already planned for other reasons, and book the flights and hotels through the Klook, Agoda or Trip.com page on ShopBack so part of the trip cost comes back.

When this does NOT apply

• You want a specific hyped reference at retail with no premium. Preloved and grey buy you the piece today above retail; only AD relationship gets you to retail on hyped references. Building the relationship takes 12 to 36 months.
• You are not confident authenticating the piece yourself. Skip peer-to-peer channels entirely; use Chrono24 Certified Preowned, established dealers, or an authentication service.
• You need the piece within days. Cross-border shipping (Chrono24, Japan-to-SG) can take 2 to 4 weeks with customs clearance and duty. Carousell SG in-person handover is same-day but subject to seller availability.
• You are buying with the intent to resell in Singapore quickly. Repeat high-value watch imports may trigger IRAS or Singapore Customs review. Private-use imports are fine when declared honestly.
• You are not certain the piece is under warranty or willing to budget for out-of-warranty service. Preloved outside warranty period will need service within 5 years (S$800 to S$2,500 depending on brand and complexity); factor into total cost.
• The seller refuses in-person inspection or third-party authentication. This is the strongest red flag. Walk away.
• You are shipping cross-border and cannot afford the risk of parcel loss or damage. Insured shipping via FedEx, DHL, or Malca-Amit is available but expensive (S$150 to S$800 depending on value); worth every dollar for high-value pieces.

Buying process, step by step (Carousell Singapore)

1. Search reference number and filter by "with box and papers" and "unworn" or "excellent" condition.
2. Cross-check pricing on Chrono24 to see where the ask sits versus international dealer pricing.
3. Message the seller; verify account age (2+ years is a positive signal), positive rating count, and prior watch listings.
4. Request additional photos: serial number on case (between lugs at 6 o'clock for Rolex), warranty card with matching serial, box, and any service history.
5. Confirm meet-up at a public location. ION Orchard basement, Suntec City food court, or a bank branch during business hours are good options.
6. At the meet-up, inspect: exterior condition, lume, bracelet, clasp, movement through case-back where applicable. Verify serial number matches across case, warranty card, and box. Confirm laser-etched crown at 6 o'clock on newer Rolex.
7. If any doubt, walk with the piece to a nearby authenticator (an independent watchmaker) and pay for on-the-spot authentication (S$150 to S$400 typically).
8. Pay by PayNow or bank transfer at the meet-up; avoid cash for anti-fraud purposes. Get receipt with seller name and IC/passport number where possible.
9. Register the piece with the brand where applicable (Rolex, Omega registration transfers with the warranty card).

Buying process, step by step (Japan, Komehyo or Jackroad)

1. Browse online first at komehyo.co.jp (Japanese and English) or jackroad.co.jp (Japanese; English inventory listings available).
2. Confirm target reference availability and current pricing; note tax-free eligibility on the listing.
3. On arrival at Shinjuku or Nakano Broadway, present passport for tax-free processing.
4. Inspect piece in person; ask for movement inspection where display case-back applies.
5. Confirm tax-free applies (unworn preloved typically qualifies; used-condition may not, verify).
6. Pay by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, JCB, AmEx accepted at Komehyo and Jackroad).
7. From 1 November 2026, pay tax-inclusive price; retain electronic tax-refund receipt to claim at airport kiosk on departure.
8. Before 1 November 2026, tax-exclusive price applied at till.
9. Carry piece as cabin luggage; declare at Changi Customs red channel on return (GST payable on value above S$500 relief for 48+ hour trips).

Buying process, step by step (Chrono24 Certified Preowned)

1. Filter by "Certified Preowned" tier and by dealer location (SG, HK, JP, EU, US).
2. Confirm listed condition, warranty status, and Chrono24 buyer-protection tier.
3. Use Chrono24 Escrow: pay Chrono24, they hold funds until piece is authenticated by dealer and inspected by buyer.
4. Shipping via FedEx, DHL, or dealer-arranged courier; insurance is bundled on high-value listings.
5. On receipt at Singapore address, inspect piece. Report any discrepancy within Chrono24's dispute window.
6. Once satisfied, release escrow funds. Piece is yours; brand warranty (if applicable) transfers with the paperwork.
7. If dispute arises, Chrono24 buyer protection mediates.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a grey market and a preloved watch?

A grey market watch is a brand-new, unworn watch sourced through parallel-import channels rather than an authorised dealer, typically with full box, papers, and stickers intact but no AD purchase relationship. A preloved (pre-owned or second-hand) watch has been worn by a previous owner, ranging from unworn-condition-with-box (near-mint) to well-worn daily-driver. Both trade below new-AD-retail for available references and above new-AD-retail for hyped references. On Chrono24, Carousell, and dealer platforms, listings usually distinguish these clearly: "unworn" or "new old stock" means grey; "used" or "excellent" or "very good" means preloved with condition grading.

Is a preloved Rolex on Carousell Singapore actually cheaper than buying new in Japan?

It depends on the reference and the local vs Japan supply dynamic. For non-hyped references (Datejust 41, Explorer 40, Air-King), a preloved 2020 to 2024 production piece on Carousell Singapore typically sits at 15 to 30% below new SG retail; the same condition in Japan at Komehyo or Amore sits 20 to 35% below new SG retail. So Japan preloved is 5 to 10% cheaper than SG preloved on non-hyped references. For hyped references (Submariner Date, GMT-Master II, Daytona steel), the picture inverts: Carousell SG can be at 25 to 50% ABOVE new retail, and Japan preloved is at 15 to 35% above new retail; Japan is still cheaper but both are above MSRP. Factor in trip cost before deciding.

How do I authenticate a preloved luxury watch bought on Carousell or Chrono24?

Three layers. First, seller reputation: Carousell has ratings and account age; Chrono24 has verified dealer and buyer protection tiers. Second, provenance: original box, warranty card with matching serial and reference number, service history, ideally original invoice with retailer stamp. Third, physical inspection: for Singapore transactions, meet in person at a public location or better, use a paid authentication service (an independent watchmaker with brand expertise or an established authentication service) for S$150 to S$400 per piece. Chrono24 Escrow and Chrono24 Buyer Protection cover cross-border transactions with photo-based authentication; higher-value pieces (S$50,000+) merit paid third-party authentication by an independent watchmaker or authentication service. Never wire funds directly on cross-border sales; always use escrow.

What are the price ranges for preloved Rolex, AP, and Omega on Carousell Singapore in 2026?

Sample 2026 ranges on Carousell Singapore for lightly-worn to unworn condition with box and papers: Rolex Submariner Date 126610LN S$19,500 to S$22,500 (25 to 50% above new retail); Rolex GMT-Master II 126710BLNR S$21,000 to S$24,500; Rolex Datejust 41 126334 S$13,500 to S$16,500 (10 to 20% below new retail); Rolex Explorer 40 224270 S$12,000 to S$14,500; Rolex Oyster Perpetual 36 126000 S$10,500 to S$12,500. AP Royal Oak Selfwinding 15510ST S$52,000 to S$68,000 (30 to 70% above new retail); AP Royal Oak Offshore 26470ST S$45,000 to S$58,000. Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch 310.30.42.50.01.001 S$9,200 to S$10,800 (5 to 15% below new SG retail); Omega Seamaster 300M 210.30.42.20.03.001 S$7,000 to S$8,500.

Is Hong Kong Granville Road still worth visiting for preloved luxury watches in 2026?

Yes, though the mystique has diminished as prices normalise across markets. Granville Road in Tsim Sha Tsui and dealers on Nathan Road, Sino Centre in Mong Kok, and the corridors of Chungking Mansions still host the deepest grey and preloved watch market in Asia. Prices on Rolex sports models run 5 to 15% below Singapore Carousell for equivalent condition in 2026. Dealer specialty pieces (Panerai Bronzo, Tudor limited editions, vintage Grand Seiko) can be exceptionally well-priced. Downsides: variance in service quality, cash-only pressure at smaller dealers, and the need for confident authentication on your part. For a Rolex Submariner Date at S$18,500 (Granville Road) versus S$21,000 (Carousell SG), the S$2,500 saving needs to clear a return trip to Hong Kong at S$1,000 to S$1,800; on a two-piece trip it clears easily.

How do Komehyo, Amore, and Jackroad in Japan compare for preloved watches?

Komehyo (Nagoya-headquartered, Tokyo Shinjuku and Osaka locations) is a large second-hand luxury chain with strong authentication and clear condition grading; prices are firm but transparent. Amore (multiple Ginza and Shinjuku locations) is a specialist watch dealer with a strong Rolex and Cartier inventory and slightly higher prices than Komehyo. Jackroad (Nakano Broadway, Tokyo) is arguably the largest single-store preloved watch dealer in Japan by inventory; prices are competitive and their online listings are English-friendly. Ginza Rasin and Yukizaki (Ginza) target the higher-end preloved and vintage market. All operate as registered tax-free retailers for foreign tourists; 10% consumption tax refund applies on new-condition preloved (unused) but not always on used condition depending on dealer classification, so verify at point of sale.

Does the Japan consumption tax refund apply to preloved watches?

It depends on the retailer's classification and the piece's condition. Registered tax-free retailers can offer the 10% consumption tax refund on eligible new goods purchased by foreign tourists spending JPY 5,000+ per store per day. Unworn preloved (new old stock) generally qualifies. Used-condition preloved may or may not qualify depending on how the dealer categorises the sale; some treat used goods as outside the tax-free scheme. Komehyo, Amore, Jackroad, and Ginza Rasin all handle tax-free processing when applicable; ask before purchase to confirm. From 1 November 2026, Japan transitions to a pay-first-refund-later system at electronic airport kiosks within 90 days of purchase. Customs verify goods are being exported.

What is the grey market premium on Rolex Submariner Date in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan in 2026?

In mid-2026, an unworn 2024 to 2026 production Rolex Submariner Date 126610LN at Singapore grey sits at S$19,500 to S$22,500 against SG new retail of S$14,800 to S$15,900. That is a 25 to 50% grey premium. Hong Kong grey (Granville Road, Sino Centre) is roughly S$18,500 to S$21,000 for the same condition, a 20 to 40% premium over new SG retail. Japan grey at Komehyo, Jackroad, and Amore is S$17,500 to S$20,000, a 15 to 35% premium. Pricing on steel Rolex sports has softened from the 2021 to 2022 peak (when premiums hit 80 to 120% above retail) but remains well above MSRP because AD allocation still gates most buyers out of the AD-retail channel.

Do preloved watches come with an international warranty?

It depends on the age of the piece. Rolex international warranty is 5 years from the AD sale date, transferable with the warranty card. A 2024 to 2025 preloved Rolex would still be covered by the balance of the 5-year warranty at any Rolex service centre worldwide, including Singapore. Audemars Piguet's warranty period depends on when the watch was sold; coverage transfers with the piece and card, so check the dates on the card. Omega is 5 years globally on current-production models. Older preloved pieces (2020 and earlier) are typically out of warranty; service at brand-authorised centres is fee-based. Chrono24 dealer listings typically list the remaining warranty period; Carousell listings are less consistent, so ask the seller to confirm before committing.

How much do I really save on a preloved Rolex trip to Japan versus buying on Carousell Singapore?

For a two-piece trip targeting a preloved Submariner Date and a preloved Datejust 41 (Scenario B below): Carousell SG combined S$35,900 including authentication. Japan (Komehyo or Amore) combined JPY 3,590,000 net after the 10% consumption tax refund, S$28,492 at 126 JPY/SGD. Add a S$2,500 trip (SIA Tokyo round-trip, 3 nights hotel via Agoda, meals and travel) and returning-Singaporean GST of 9% on the amount above the S$500 relief, S$2,519. Total Japan landed cost S$33,511, roughly S$2,400 below Carousell SG, with dealer authentication and transparent condition grading. On a single-piece trip, Carousell SG usually wins.

Can I earn ShopBack Singapore Cashback on Chrono24, Carousell, or other preloved luxury watch listings?

No. Chrono24 and Carousell are not on ShopBack Singapore. Where ShopBack Singapore helps is the trip: for a Tokyo Komehyo or Jackroad run, or a Hong Kong Granville Road day trip, go through the Trip.com, Agoda or Klook page on ShopBack before you pay for the flight, hotel and airport transfer, and check the live rate on each page.

How do I use ShopBack to compare these options in 2026?

The watch platforms in this guide are not on ShopBack, so use it for the trip: open the Trip.com, Agoda or Klook page on ShopBack, check the live Cashback rate there, and book from that page before you pay.

Key takeaways

• Japan preloved (Komehyo, Amore, Jackroad, Ginza Rasin) is typically the cheapest source for preloved Rolex, AP, and Omega in 2026, 5 to 15% below Carousell Singapore for equivalent condition
• Hong Kong grey and preloved (Granville Road, Sino Centre) sits close to Japan on hyped references; less structural tax advantage but shorter travel time from Singapore
• Chrono24 Certified Preowned offers the deepest global inventory with dealer authentication and typically 12 to 24 month dealer warranty at 5 to 15% premium over raw peer-to-peer prices
• Carousell Singapore is fastest for local peer-to-peer transactions; requires buyer-driven authentication and inspection at the meet-up
• Grey market premium on Rolex Submariner Date in 2026 is 15 to 50% above new retail across the three markets; softened significantly from the 2021 to 2022 peak
• Non-hyped Rolex references (Datejust, Explorer, Air-King, Oyster Perpetual) and most Omega references trade below new retail on preloved
• Japan 10% consumption tax refund applies to unworn preloved at registered tax-free dealers; used-condition may not qualify, so verify at point of sale
• Authentication is the biggest determinant of a successful preloved purchase; pay S$150 to S$400 for third-party authentication on any S$10,000+ peer-to-peer purchase
• Trip-cost breakeven on Japan or HK preloved trips typically requires 2+ pieces at hyped-reference pricing, or bolt onto a trip already planned
• Go through the Skyscanner SG page on ShopBack for flights and the Agoda or Trip.com page for hotels before you pay, so part of the trip cost comes back
