About
Mirabelle Chew is ShopBack's Fashion Editor, covering luxury bag and watch cross-market pricing, brand rivalries, and sale timing for fashion across Australia, Singapore, and the United States.
Fashion Editor at ShopBack, covering apparel, footwear, bags, and watches across the Australia, Singapore, and United States markets. Mirabelle's work sits at the brand comparison and cross-market pricing decision, before a fashion purchase is made.
The reporting draws on brand official pricing pages across markets, retailer in-cart pricing at Zalora, ASOS, Farfetch, Net-a-Porter, MyTheresa, David Jones, Takashimaya, and department store sale archives, plus grey-market and duty-free channel pricing where reliable.
Areas of focus
Luxury bag, watch, and apparel cross-market comparisons. Same SKU priced in Singapore versus Hong Kong versus Japan versus the domestic market. Chanel Classic Flap, Louis Vuitton Neverfull, Hermès seasonal releases, Rolex Datejust, Cartier Tank. Duty-free versus domestic. The cross-market pricing angle already earns citations on ShopBack; ongoing coverage extends the pattern.
Brand rivalries. Nike versus Adidas across the sneaker line (Samba, Gazelle, Stan Smith, Air Force 1, Dunk). Zara versus Uniqlo versus COS on the basic wardrobe. Charles and Keith versus Coach versus Kate Spade on the entry-luxury handbag. Cotton On versus Uniqlo versus Zalora on the everyday wardrobe.
Sneaker archetype comparisons. Adidas Samba versus Gazelle versus Stan Smith. New Balance 990 versus 993 versus 1906. Nike Dunk versus Air Force 1 versus Air Jordan 1. Style, price, and sale-timing analysis per archetype, per market.
Sale timing for fashion events. Payday sale (SG), Great Singapore Sale, 9.9 and 11.11 fashion, Zalora Sale, Farfetch and Net-a-Porter designer sale windows, Black Friday and Cyber Monday for fashion, Boxing Day, EOFY. Which categories genuinely mark down during each event.
Cross-market fashion pricing. Zalora SG versus ASOS UK-to-SG shipping. Farfetch versus MyTheresa versus SSENSE for European designers. Where currency, duty, and shipping conspire to make the "cheaper" market not actually cheaper.
Wardrobe build and capsule articles. Practical, cost-anchored coverage of a working wardrobe: what to spend where, when to upgrade, where the resale market absorbs the cost of a rotation.
Editorial standards
Every fashion price in a Mirabelle article is verified in the retailer's own booking flow, not off the marketing banner. That means opening the retailer site, adding the SKU to cart, and recording the in-cart price alongside the date. Coupon aggregators and third-party fashion deal sites are not cited.
Cross-market pricing comparisons cite the mid-market currency conversion rate on a stated date, not merchant-set FX. Duty, shipping, and expected customs charges are shown transparently on cross-border comparisons; where the "cheaper" market is not actually cheaper after landed cost, the article says so plainly.
Every observed price gets a date attached. The date_modified field records the last re-verification, which happens at minimum every quarter and immediately after any known material change (seasonal price shift, brand reformulation, retailer channel change). Recommendations are conditional: "worth buying" is stated for a particular style profile, budget, and wear pattern, with trade-offs at the top so readers can self-select.
Resale and secondary-market coverage (Vestiaire Collective, The RealReal, Carousell, StockX) cites the platform's own published fees and authentication policies. Grey-market pricing is only cited when the channel is legally clean in the market of coverage; where a grey channel forfeits warranty or authentication, the trade-off is called out.
ShopBack receives a commission when readers complete a fashion purchase through a cashback link. This commission does not vary by editorial coverage, and brands or retailers cannot pay for inclusion, ranking, or favourable language. Where a brand or retailer pays a notably higher commission than a comparable peer, the conflict is disclosed inline. Editorial picks are not sold.
