How to Stack ShopBack Cashback with Credit Card Cashback in Singapore (2026)
ShopBack cashback and credit card cashback are two independent layers on one purchase: ShopBack tracks the click, the card rewards the transaction. This guide gives the order of operations, the published 2026 terms for DBS Live Fresh, UOB One, OCBC 365 and Citi Cash Back, what does not stack, and worked examples with the arithmetic.

How we picked. Card terms are taken from each issuer's published product page as of September 2026: UOB One, OCBC 365, DBS Live Fresh and Citi Cash Back. ShopBack mechanics are from the ShopBack Singapore help centre. Last data check: 1 October 2026.
Before 1 November 2026 your OCBC 365 card pays 5 percent on dining and 3 percent on groceries with an S$80 cap at S$800 spend; from 1 November it pays 6 percent on both with a S$160 cap at the same S$800, and drops streaming, telco and utilities to 0.25 percent, per OCBC's published card page. If you plan your 11.11 and year-end stacking around the old structure you will leave money on the table. The good news is that none of this touches the ShopBack layer: ShopBack tracks the click and pays from the store's commission, the card pays from the transaction, and the two stack on the same order regardless of which month it is. This guide sets out the order of operations, the published 2026 terms for DBS Live Fresh, UOB One, OCBC 365 and Citi Cash Back, what genuinely does not stack, and the arithmetic.
The verdict
Tap through ShopBack first, pay with your cashback card second, and both layers land on the same purchase. Pick the card by category and cap; pick ShopBack for every purchase. The stack only breaks when the ShopBack click breaks: an unlisted code, an ad blocker, a different Shopee seller, or a detour through another site.
Card cashback is earned on the transaction and does not care how you reached the store. ShopBack cashback is earned on the click and does not care how you paid, except where a store's terms exclude a payment method. Everything else in this guide is detail on those two facts.
Why are ShopBack cashback and card cashback independent?
Follow one S$200 Lazada order.
The card layer. When you pay, Lazada's acquiring bank pays your card issuer an interchange fee. The issuer funds its cashback programme from that fee, annual fees and interest. The cashback is awarded for the transaction itself, subject to the card's minimum spend and cap.
The ShopBack layer. Separately, Lazada runs an affiliate programme through a network. When ShopBack sends a shopper who buys, Lazada pays ShopBack a commission from its marketing budget, and ShopBack passes a share to you as cashback, calculated on the rate shown on the store's ShopBack page at the time of your click and usually on the subtotal excluding shipping and GST. ShopBack's tracking guide states the order appears as Pending within 48 hours and confirms once the store validates it.
Two fees from two different parts of the merchant's cost base, tracked by two different systems (a cookie on your click, the card network's transaction record). Neither offsets the other. There is no setting that says "this customer got ShopBack cashback, withhold the card cashback."
Which Singapore cashback card earns what in 2026?
The published terms below are from each issuer's product page as of September 2026. Every one of these cards has a minimum monthly spend and a cap, which is why the card you choose matters more than on a points card.
| Card | Headline categories and rates | Minimum spend | Cap | Base rate | Annual fee | Published 2026 change |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DBS Live Fresh | Up to 6 percent on shopping (including online and contactless) and on transport | S$800 a month | Per category per month | 0.3 percent when minimum not met | S$196.20, first year waived | None published on the card page |
| UOB One | Up to 10 percent on Grab, McDonald's, Shopee Singapore and SimplyGo; up to 3.33 percent on all retail | S$600, S$1,000 or S$2,000 a month for 3 consecutive months, minimum 10 transactions a month | S$60, S$100 or S$200 a quarter; additional cashback capped at S$120 a month | Below tier, no quarterly cashback | S$196.20, first year waived | Tier rates as published |
| OCBC 365 (to 31 October 2026) | 6 percent petrol; 5 percent dining and food delivery; 3 percent groceries, transport, utilities, streaming, Watsons, EV charging | S$800 or S$1,600 a month | S$80 or S$160 a month | 0.25 percent | S$196.20, waived first two years | Replaced 1 November 2026 |
| OCBC 365 (from 1 November 2026) | 6 percent dining and groceries; petrol, transport and Watsons as published; telco, utilities, streaming and EV charging at base | S$800 a month | S$160 a month | 0.25 percent | As above | New structure |
| Citi Cash Back | 8 percent petrol and private commute; 6 percent dining and groceries | S$800 a month | S$80 a month | 0.20 percent | Per Citi's card page | As published |
Two things stand out. First, only DBS Live Fresh and UOB One publish anything that rewards general online shopping; OCBC 365 and Citi Cash Back are dining, grocery and petrol cards, so on a fashion or electronics order they pay base rate. Second, caps are small: S$80 to S$160 a month means the card tier is exhausted after S$1,300 to S$2,700 of category spend, after which the ShopBack layer is the only one still paying its full rate.
Which card for which category?
| Category | Best published earn in the table | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Online shopping (Lazada, Amazon, fashion, electronics) | DBS Live Fresh up to 6 percent, under cap | Only card with a published online shopping tier |
| Shopee | UOB One up to 10 percent at tier | Shopee Singapore is a named UOB One bonus merchant |
| Groceries (FairPrice Online, Shopee Supermarket) | OCBC 365 at 6 percent from 1 November 2026, or Citi Cash Back 6 percent | Both publish a groceries category |
| Food delivery (foodpanda, GrabFood) | OCBC 365 5 percent (6 percent from 1 November) | Dining includes food delivery on OCBC's page |
| Travel (Agoda, Klook, Trip.com, Booking.com) | Your highest base-rate card, or DBS Live Fresh if the booking is treated as online shopping | No card above publishes a travel tier; the ShopBack layer is the main earn on travel |
| Petrol | Citi Cash Back 8 percent or OCBC 365 6 percent | Published petrol tiers |
The Shopee case deserves a note. UOB One's Shopee bonus is a card-side reward for paying at Shopee; it has nothing to do with ShopBack. To get both, find the exact Shopee seller on ShopBack, tap through, and pay with UOB One. ShopBack Singapore states that buying from a different seller than the one you landed on drops you to the minimum base rate, so the seller rule still applies.
How do I stack them, step by step?
- Pick the card for the category and check its cap. Look at where you are in the month: under the cap and on track for minimum spend means the card tier applies; over the cap means the card pays base and ShopBack is doing the work.
- Start at ShopBack. App, shopback.sg or browser extension. Search the store, and for Shopee the exact seller, and tap Shop Now. The tracking cookie is set at this click.
- Stay in the lane. No coupon sites, no retargeting adverts, no manual URL edits, no switching from browser to app mid-checkout. ShopBack Singapore lists each of these as tracking-disabling.
- Use only codes listed on ShopBack. The card does not care which code you use. The store's affiliate terms do.
- Pay with the chosen card in the same session. The issuer sees a normal purchase and awards cashback on the amount charged after any discount. ShopBack calculates on the subtotal the store reports.
- Check both landed. ShopBack shows Pending within 48 hours. Card cashback posts with the statement, or at quarter end for UOB One. If the ShopBack entry is missing, the report window opens 7 days after purchase and closes at 30 days.
What does not stack?
- ShopBack cashback and the merchant's own loyalty currency. Shopee Coins, Lazada Bonus, FairPrice Link points, Grab rewards, hotel points: these are the store's own promotions. ShopBack does not claim its cashback stacks with them, and some stores exclude orders paid partly with coins or treat voucher-funded purchases as outside the affiliate commission. The Cashback Info section on each store's ShopBack page is where the exclusions live.
- ShopBack cashback and codes not listed on ShopBack. ShopBack Singapore states it cannot track cashback when you used a coupon or promo code not listed on ShopBack. This is the most common cause of a rejected order.
- ShopBack cashback and a second cashback site. Affiliate networks pay the last click. Tap ShopBack, then another cashback site, and only the second is paid.
- ShopBack cashback and excluded payment methods. ShopBack states some stores do not pay cashback on certain payment methods, listed in Cashback Info. If a store excludes a wallet or BNPL provider, pay with the card directly.
- Card cashback and excluded transaction types. Each issuer publishes a list of transactions that do not count toward minimum spend or earn cashback (typically bill payments, top-ups, instalment plans). Those exclusions apply whether or not ShopBack is involved.
What does stack, routinely: ShopBack cashback, card cashback, a sale price, and a code listed on ShopBack.
Worked examples with the arithmetic
Illustrative ShopBack rates are used; the actual rate is on each store's ShopBack page at the time of your click. Card figures are the issuers' published tiers as of September 2026, assuming minimum spend is met and the cap is not yet reached.
Example 1: S$300 Lazada electronics order, DBS Live Fresh. Card layer: 6 percent online shopping tier = S$18, assuming the S$800 minimum is met and the category cap has room. ShopBack layer at an illustrative 3 percent = S$9, Pending within 48 hours, Confirmed after the return window. Total: S$27 back, or 9 percent, where either alone would have been 6 or 3.
Example 2: S$150 Shopee order from a brand store, UOB One at the S$1,000 tier. Card layer: UOB One's Shopee bonus at the tier rate, paid at quarter end provided you hit S$1,000 and 10 transactions in each of the three months. ShopBack layer at an illustrative 4 percent = S$6, but only if you tapped through to that exact seller. Buy from a different seller and the ShopBack layer falls to the minimum base rate while the card layer is unchanged.
Example 3: S$180 FairPrice Online basket on 15 November 2026, OCBC 365. Card layer: 6 percent groceries under the new structure = S$10.80, against the S$160 monthly cap. Had the same basket been bought on 15 October, the old 3 percent tier would have paid S$5.40. ShopBack layer at an illustrative 2 percent = S$3.60 either month. The timing of the card change moved the card layer; it did not move the ShopBack layer.
Example 4: S$1,200 Agoda hotel for a December Bangkok trip, Citi Cash Back. Card layer: travel is not a published Citi Cash Back category, so 0.20 percent = S$2.40. ShopBack layer at an illustrative 5 percent = S$60, Pending until after the stay, then Confirmed. On travel the ShopBack layer is the earn; choose the card for its other benefits, not its rate.
Example 5: The same S$1,200 hotel with a voucher code from a random blog. You save at checkout, the card still pays its S$2.40, and ShopBack Singapore states it cannot track cashback on an unlisted code, so the S$60 becomes S$0. If the same code is listed on Agoda's ShopBack page, you keep all three.
Where this works best
- Online shoppers who hold DBS Live Fresh. The only published online tier plus ShopBack on Lazada, Amazon and fashion stores is the simplest recurring stack in Singapore.
- Shopee regulars on UOB One. Named bonus merchant plus the ShopBack seller rule done correctly.
- Grocery and dining households from 1 November 2026. OCBC 365's new 6 percent on dining and groceries plus ShopBack on FairPrice Online and food delivery.
- Travellers. No card above publishes a travel tier, so the ShopBack layer on Agoda, Klook, Trip.com and Booking.com is where the dollars are.
- Minimum-spend hunters. Spend through ShopBack partner stores counts toward every card's minimum like any other purchase.
FAQ
How does stacking ShopBack cashback with a credit card actually work?
They are two separate systems. ShopBack earns an affiliate commission from the store for sending you there and shares part of it as cashback; that layer depends on the click. Your card issuer earns interchange from the merchant on the transaction and shares part of it as card cashback; that layer depends on the payment. Tap through ShopBack, pay with the card, and both fire on the same purchase.
What is the correct order of operations to stack ShopBack and a cashback card?
Choose the card first (and check its cap and minimum spend), then tap through ShopBack to the store, add items, apply only codes listed on ShopBack, and pay with the chosen card in the same session. The only order-sensitive step is the ShopBack click: it must be the last referral before checkout.
Which Singapore credit card gives the most cashback on online shopping in 2026?
DBS Live Fresh is the online-spend card: it pays up to 6 percent on shopping, including online and contactless, and on transport, with a S$800 monthly minimum spend and category caps, per DBS's published card page as of September 2026. UOB One pays up to 10 percent on Shopee Singapore, Grab, McDonald's and SimplyGo and up to 3.33 percent on all retail spend, paid quarterly with a 10-transaction-per-month rule. OCBC 365 and Citi Cash Back do not publish an online shopping category; their strength is dining, groceries and petrol.
Is ShopBack cashback worth more than card cashback on the same purchase?
It depends on the card and the category, and the point is that you do not choose. A capped card tier of 5 to 6 percent is strong while you are under the cap and have met minimum spend; outside those conditions the card drops to a base rate of 0.2 to 0.3 percent, per the issuers' published terms, and ShopBack cashback in the low single digits at a partner store becomes the bigger layer. Both land on the same order either way.
Is it better to use one cashback card or several with ShopBack?
One well-chosen card is usually enough because every Singapore cashback card has a minimum monthly spend, and splitting spend across cards can leave both under their minimums. Pick the card whose categories match your biggest spend, meet its minimum, and put every purchase through ShopBack regardless of card. Add a second card only if you can clear both minimums comfortably.
When does the OCBC 365 structure change in 2026?
From 1 November 2026, per OCBC's published card page. The card moves to a single S$800 minimum spend with a S$160 monthly cap; dining and groceries rise to 6 percent; and telco, utilities, streaming and EV charging drop to the 0.25 percent base rate. Until 31 October 2026 the two-tier structure applies: S$800 spend for an S$80 cap, S$1,600 spend for a S$160 cap, with 5 percent dining and 3 percent groceries.
When do the two cashbacks arrive?
Card cashback posts with the statement for DBS Live Fresh, OCBC 365 and Citi Cash Back, and at the end of each quarter for UOB One, which requires the minimum spend in each of three consecutive months. ShopBack cashback shows as Pending within 48 hours and confirms once the store's return window closes, typically a few weeks for shopping and after the trip for travel. Confirmed Cashback of S$10 or more can be withdrawn by bank transfer within 10 calendar days.
Can I stack ShopBack with Shopee Coins, Lazada Bonus or a merchant's own loyalty points?
Do not count on it. Shopee Coins, Lazada Bonus, FairPrice Link points and hotel programmes are the merchant's own promotions, and ShopBack never claims its cashback stacks with a merchant's loyalty scheme. Some stores exclude purchases paid partly with coins or vouchers, or treat them as outside the affiliate commission. Read the Cashback Info section on the store's ShopBack page before you redeem anything at checkout.
Does spending through ShopBack count toward my card's minimum monthly spend?
Yes. The card issuer sees an ordinary transaction at the merchant; it has no idea you arrived via ShopBack. Spend routed through ShopBack partner stores counts toward DBS Live Fresh's S$800, OCBC 365's S$800, Citi Cash Back's S$800 and UOB One's S$600, S$1,000 or S$2,000 tiers exactly like any other purchase, subject to each issuer's list of excluded transaction types.
What if I pay through Apple Pay or a wallet instead of the card directly?
Online, paying with a card inside Apple Pay or Google Pay still earns the card's cashback, and ShopBack tracking depends on the click rather than the wallet, so both layers usually land; check the store's ShopBack page for any excluded payment method. In-store is different: ShopBack Singapore states a UOB Mastercard must be used directly rather than via a mobile wallet for in-store cashback to track, and that GrabPay QR, Singtel Dash, FavePay, GetzPay and cash cannot be tracked.
Key takeaways
- Two budgets, two trackers, two payouts. Interchange funds the card cashback; the store's commission funds ShopBack cashback. They do not offset.
- Order of operations: pick the card and check its cap, tap through ShopBack (exact Shopee seller), listed codes only, pay with the card, check both landed.
- Online shopping: DBS Live Fresh is the only published online tier. Shopee: UOB One. Dining and groceries: OCBC 365 at 6 percent from 1 November 2026, or Citi Cash Back. Travel: no card tier, so ShopBack is the earn.
- Does not stack: merchant coins and vouchers, unlisted codes, a second cashback site, excluded payment methods.
- 1 November 2026 OCBC 365 change: single S$800 minimum, S$160 cap, 6 percent dining and groceries, base rate on streaming, telco and utilities.
