Online Shopping Credit Card: How to Save the Most in Singapore 2026?
How to get the most savings on online shopping with a credit card in Singapore in 2026: what UOB One, OCBC 365, Citi Rewards and Citi PremierMiles publish for online spend, how Shopee and Lazada fit in, and why going through ShopBack before you pay lowers the price you actually end up paying.

How we checked. Card terms are from each bank's published card page at the time of writing: UOB One, OCBC 365 and Citi Rewards. Store rules are from the Shopee and Lazada pages on ShopBack Singapore.
In Singapore in 2026, you get the most out of an online shopping credit card by using three things on the same checkout: the card that pays the most on that store, the store's own sale price, and ShopBack before you pay. According to UOB, UOB One adds 5% to 6.67% on Shopee Singapore spend at its monthly tiers, and according to Citi, Citi Rewards earns 10X points on online purchases. Going through ShopBack Singapore then returns part of what you spend as cash.
New to ShopBack? ShopBack Singapore is a free app, website and browser extension. Before you buy at a partner store such as Lazada or Shopee, you go through ShopBack, shop and pay as usual, and part of what you spent comes back to your ShopBack account as cash once the order is confirmed. How do I get the most savings on online shopping with my credit card in Singapore?
Match the card to the store, use the store's own deal, and go through ShopBack before you pay; done together, these usually give you the lowest real price on one order. Each piece comes from a different place, which is why they usually work on the same purchase.
- The card. Banks reward the payment. In Singapore the strongest online rates are tied to named merchants or to an "online" category, and most of them come with a monthly minimum spend and a cap.
- The store. Shopee and Lazada set the sale price and usually release vouchers, including bank card vouchers, around their big sale days.
- ShopBack. Going through ShopBack takes a few seconds and adds cashback to the same order. It is the step to do before you add to cart, because it cannot be added after you pay.
The order matters for the third step only. Your bank does not care how you reached the store, but ShopBack needs your visit to start from its page.
Online shopping credit card in Singapore 2026: what the main cards publish
At the time of writing, UOB One is the card with a named Shopee bonus, Citi Rewards is the card with a published online category, and OCBC 365 is a dining and groceries card. The figures below are from each bank's own card page.
| Card | What it pays for online spend, according to the bank | Conditions to check |
|---|---|---|
| UOB One | Quarterly cashback of S$60, S$100 or S$200 (up to 3.33%) at S$600, S$1,000 or S$2,000 monthly spend, plus an additional 5%, 5% or 6.67% on Grab, McDonald's, Shopee Singapore and SimplyGo | Spend tier met every month of the quarter, at least 10 transactions a month, Shopee excludes ShopeePay, monthly cap on the additional amount, paid quarterly |
| Citi Rewards | 10X points on online purchases, including online grocery, food delivery and ride-hailing; 10X on in-store shopping at department and clothing stores; 1X on everything else | Citi's list of eligible transactions; points last 60 months; Pay with Points converts 440 points to S$1 |
| Citi PremierMiles | 1.2 Citi Miles per S$1 local spend and 2.2 per S$1 foreign currency spend | Uncapped and no expiry, according to Citi |
| OCBC 365 | 3% on groceries, utilities, streaming and EV charging; 5% on dining and food delivery; 6% on fuel | From 1 November 2026, a single S$800 minimum spend and S$160 monthly cap, with dining, groceries and land transport rising to 6%, according to OCBC |
Two things follow. First, a general online order at a store your card does not name usually earns only the card's base rate, so the card you pick matters most on the stores it names. Second, bonus caps are often modest, so once your card's bonus is used up for the month, ShopBack is the part that can still lower the price of each tracked order.
Online shopping credit card best deals in Singapore 2026: where they come from
The best online deals in Singapore in 2026 usually come from the store's sale days and vouchers, your card's merchant or category rate, and going through ShopBack, in that order of who sets them. None of them replaces the others.
- Store sale days. Shopee and Lazada run their largest sales on double dates such as 9.9, 10.10, 11.11 and 12.12. Sale prices change daily, so compare on the day you buy.
- Bank card vouchers. Both marketplaces usually list bank card vouchers in their apps during sale periods, often limited in number. Check the voucher's own terms for the card and minimum spend.
- Your card's rate. UOB One's Shopee bonus and Citi Rewards' 10X points apply whenever their conditions are met, sale or not.
- ShopBack. Cashback also applies on sale prices, so the step works on a discounted item the same way as on a full-price one.
A bank voucher from the store is not the same as your card's own rebate. The voucher lowers the price at checkout; the card's rebate arrives on your statement or at quarter end.
Shopee and Lazada with a credit card in Singapore
On Shopee and Lazada, your card choice decides what the bank pays you, and the store's ShopBack page decides what you need to do so the order counts on ShopBack.
Shopee. UOB One names Shopee Singapore as one of its additional cashback partners, excluding ShopeePay, according to UOB. On ShopBack Singapore, the Shopee Official Store page says you need the ShopBack browser extension on Chrome, Firefox or Edge, that you should clear your cart first and finish the purchase in one visit, and that vouchers or promo codes not featured on ShopBack, shipping fees and taxes are excluded.
Lazada. No card above names Lazada, so a card with a broad online category such as Citi Rewards is the usual pick. The Lazada page on ShopBack Singapore says to add items to your cart only after clicking through from ShopBack, to place separate orders for different sellers, and that amounts paid with a voucher or store credit do not count while the balance you pay by card or cash still does. LazTravel and utility bill payments are excluded.
The practical difference: on Shopee you use the browser extension, and on Lazada you start from ShopBack before anything goes into your cart.
Shopee vs Lazada: comparing the price with your credit card
Neither marketplace is always cheaper; compare the final price for the same item after vouchers, then subtract what your card and ShopBack return on each. Many brands sell on both, and prices move by seller and by day.
A simple way to compare, with illustrative numbers only:
| Same item | Shopee | Lazada |
|---|---|---|
| Price after store vouchers | S$200 | S$205 |
| Card rebate (illustrative 5% on Shopee with UOB One at tier; base rate elsewhere) | S$10 | S$1 |
| ShopBack at an illustrative 3% | S$6 | S$6.15 |
| Effective price | S$184 | S$197.85 |
Swap in your own card and the live rates on each store's ShopBack page, and the cheaper option can flip. The point is to compare the number you actually end up paying, not the sticker price.
Go through ShopBack before you pay
Before you check out at a partner store, go through ShopBack Singapore so part of what you spend comes back as cash. Going through ShopBack takes a few seconds and adds cashback to the same order, and you still pay with the card you chose.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. That makes it easy to compare with a card rebate: both are money back on the same spend.
Worked example, illustrative only. You buy a S$200 order on Lazada through ShopBack. At an illustrative 3%, S$6 comes back, so the effective price is S$194. Your effective price is what you pay minus the cash ShopBack returns. If your card also pays on that spend, take that off too. Check the live rate on Lazada's ShopBack page before you buy, because rates change.
Card rewards, bank promos and ShopBack: what usually combines
You can usually earn cashback and your credit card's rewards or bank card promo on the same purchase, because they come from different places. Cashback also applies on sale prices. Some merchant promo codes or payment methods can void cashback, so check the merchant's terms on ShopBack.
| On one Shopee or Lazada order | Usually combines? |
|---|---|
| Your card's points, miles or rebate and ShopBack | Usually yes, under each one's terms |
| Sale price and ShopBack | Usually yes |
| A voucher featured on the store's ShopBack page and ShopBack | Usually yes |
| A voucher not featured on ShopBack and ShopBack | Excluded on both stores' ShopBack pages at the time of writing |
| Lazada voucher or store credit | The amount paid with it does not count; the card-paid balance still does |
Check the store's terms on ShopBack before you pay, because exclusions can change.
Other online stores where the same steps apply
Shopee and Lazada sit in Singapore's online marketplace category alongside Amazon Singapore, Qoo10, Taobao and Zalora, and the same three steps apply on each: the right card, the store's own deal, and ShopBack before you pay. Each store has its own terms on ShopBack, so read them first.
Step by step: one online order, three savings
To get the most from one online order, pick your card, check the store's deal, go through ShopBack, then pay in the same visit.
- Pick the card for this store. Check your minimum spend and cap for the month.
- Check the store's deal. Note the sale price and any voucher, and whether the store's ShopBack page allows it.
- Go through ShopBack before you add to cart. For Shopee, use the ShopBack extension; for Lazada, tap through from the Lazada page on ShopBack first.
- Pay with the chosen card in one visit. If payment fails, restart from ShopBack.
- Work out your effective price. What you paid, minus the cash ShopBack returns, minus your card's rebate.
FAQ
How do I get the most savings on online shopping with my credit card in Singapore?
Use the card that pays the most on that store or on online spend, take the store's own sale price or a voucher that the store's ShopBack page allows, and go through ShopBack Singapore before you pay. The card rewards the payment, the store sets the price, and ShopBack returns part of what you spend as cash, so all three can usually work on one order.
Which credit card is best for online shopping in Singapore in 2026?
It depends on where you shop. According to UOB, UOB One pays an additional 5% (6.67% at the top tier) on Shopee Singapore transactions, excluding ShopeePay, when you meet its monthly spend tier for the quarter. According to Citi, the Citi Rewards Card earns 10X points on online purchases, including online grocery and food delivery. Pick the card whose published category matches your biggest online spend.
Does UOB One give a bonus on Shopee?
Yes, according to UOB's card page at the time of writing. Cardmembers who earn the quarterly cashback get an additional 5% at the S$600 and S$1,000 monthly tiers, or 6.67% at the S$2,000 tier, on Shopee Singapore transactions, excluding ShopeePay. You need at least 10 card transactions a month in the qualifying quarter, and UOB caps the additional amount each month.
Is Shopee or Lazada cheaper with a credit card?
Neither is always cheaper. Prices depend on the seller, the day's vouchers and your card. Compare the final price for the same item on both after vouchers, then take away what your card pays back on that store and what ShopBack returns. The lower number is your real price for that order.
Can I use my credit card rewards and ShopBack on the same order?
Usually yes. You can usually earn cashback and your credit card's rewards or bank card promo on the same purchase, because they come from different places. Cashback also applies on sale prices. Some merchant promo codes or payment methods can void cashback, so check the merchant's terms on ShopBack.
Do vouchers stop ShopBack from tracking my Shopee or Lazada order?
Vouchers or promo codes that are not featured on ShopBack are excluded on both stores' ShopBack pages at the time of writing. On Lazada, ShopBack's terms say the amount paid with a voucher does not count, but the balance you pay by card still does. Check each store's ShopBack page before you apply a code.
Why does ShopBack ask me to use the browser extension for Shopee?
The Shopee Official Store page on ShopBack Singapore says the extension on Chrome, Firefox or Edge is the way to earn on Shopee at the time of writing. Install it, click Activate when it pops up on Shopee, clear your cart first, and finish the purchase in that visit.
Does spending through ShopBack still count toward my card's minimum spend?
Usually yes. Your bank sees a normal purchase at the store, so it counts toward minimum spend the same way as any other purchase, subject to the bank's own list of excluded transaction types.
What is an effective price?
Your effective price is what you pay minus the cash ShopBack returns. As an illustration only, on a S$200 Lazada order at an illustrative 3%, S$6 comes back, so the effective price is S$194 before any card rebate. Check the live rate on Lazada's ShopBack page.
How is ShopBack different from card points or miles?
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. Card points such as Citi ThankYou points have their own conversion values, for example 440 points for S$1 through Citi Pay with Points, according to Citi.
Key takeaways
- Three savings, one order: the card that pays most on that store, the store's own sale price or allowed voucher, and ShopBack before you pay.
- Shopee: UOB One adds 5% to 6.67% on Shopee Singapore at its tiers, excluding ShopeePay, according to UOB. Use the ShopBack extension for Shopee.
- Online in general: Citi Rewards earns 10X points on online purchases, according to Citi.
- Lazada: start from ShopBack before anything goes into your cart.
- Compare effective prices, not sticker prices: what you pay, minus the cash ShopBack returns, minus your card's rebate.
