ShopBack vs Shopee Coins vs Lazada Bonus in Singapore (2026)
ShopBack cashback is Singapore dollars withdrawn to your bank. Shopee Coins are platform points worth S$1 per 100 that expire at the end of the third month and can only be spent inside Shopee. Lazada Bonus is a stackable discount voucher collected daily in the Lazada app and valid only on badged items for a campaign window. This guide compares what each actually is, where it is redeemable, when it expires, and what stacks with what.

How we picked. Shopee Coins rules are from Shopee Singapore's help centre. Lazada Bonus mechanics are from Lazada's campaign terms and RinggitPlus's report on Lazada's May 2023 voucher stacking change; where Lazada does not publish a general expiry rule, we say so. ShopBack rules are from the ShopBack Singapore help centre. Last data check: 1 October 2026.
Meet Wei Ling, who does her weekly Shopee Supermarket order on Monday, buys a Lazada air fryer during 11.11, and books an Agoda hotel for Chinese New Year. By January she has a Shopee Coins balance that is about to lapse, a Lazada Bonus she forgot to collect, and S$38 of ShopBack cashback sitting Confirmed in an account she has not withdrawn from since July. All three of those are real value, but they are three different kinds of value: a platform currency with an expiry date, a campaign discount voucher, and cash. This guide explains what each one actually is, where it can be spent, when it expires, and which of them stack with which.
The verdict
ShopBack cashback, Shopee Coins and Lazada Bonus are not three versions of the same thing. Cashback is money that leaves the platform. Coins are a currency that stays in Shopee and dies after three months. Lazada Bonus is a discount coupon that only works on badged items during a campaign. Use the coupon at checkout, spend the coins before they expire, and put every order through ShopBack so the cash layer lands on top.
The one thing not to do is treat coins or bonus as a reason to skip the ShopBack click. The click costs nothing, and the cashback arrives in Singapore dollars you can move to a DBS, OCBC or UOB account.
What is each one, actually?
ShopBack cashback is an affiliate payment. You tap through ShopBack to Shopee, Lazada, Amazon, Agoda, Klook or any partner store, buy as normal, and the store pays ShopBack a commission that ShopBack shares with you. Per ShopBack's tracking guide, the order shows as Pending within 48 hours and confirms once the store validates it. You withdraw Confirmed Cashback by bank transfer once you have S$10, up to S$300 a day, within 10 calendar days, per the ShopBack Singapore help centre as of October 2026. It is cash, it does not expire once Confirmed, and it is not tied to any one app.
Shopee Coins are, in Shopee's own words, "the official reward points system on our platform." Per Shopee Singapore's help centre, 100 Shopee Coins equal S$1. You earn them from purchases (sellers and Shopee fund coin cashback on many listings), daily check-ins, games such as Shopee Prizes, and promotional activities. You spend them by toggling "Redeem Shopee Coins" before checkout, which offsets part of the order. Coins can also pay at ShopeePay merchants and for digital products. Shopee states coins cannot be converted to cash, that there are limits on how many you can earn and use, and that they expire at the end of the third month from the month earned, with the earning month counted as the first.
Lazada Bonus is a discount voucher, not a currency. During campaigns (9.9, 10.10, 11.11, 12.12, the birthday sale) Lazada releases bonus vouchers that you collect daily in the app on a first-come first-served basis. Each bonus is typically a fixed amount off a minimum spend, for example an illustrative S$6 off S$50, and it applies only to products carrying the Lazada Bonus badge. Since Lazada's May 2023 rule change reported by RinggitPlus, Lazada Bonus is stackable with all other vouchers except platform vouchers. Lazada does not publish a single standing expiry rule; each campaign sets its own collection and redemption window, and an uncollected or unused bonus simply lapses at the end of it.

Where is each one redeemable?
This is the question that separates them.
ShopBack cashback is redeemable everywhere, because it stops being "ShopBack cashback" the moment you withdraw it. After the S$10 threshold and the bank transfer, it is a balance in your DBS, OCBC or UOB account. You can pay rent with it.
Shopee Coins are redeemable only inside Shopee's world. That world is bigger than it sounds (Shopee orders, ShopeePay QR payments at hawker stalls and shops that accept it, mobile top-ups and vouchers under digital products), but it is still one company's ecosystem. If you stop shopping on Shopee, the coins are worth nothing.
Lazada Bonus is the narrowest. It works only on Lazada, only on items showing the badge, only during the campaign, and only once the minimum spend is met. It is the digital equivalent of a coupon cut out of a flyer.
When does each one expire?
Shopee is the one with a hard, published rule, and it catches people every quarter. Per Shopee Singapore's help centre, coins expire at the end of the third month from the month they were earned, counting the earning month as the first. Coins earned on 3 October 2026 and coins earned on 29 October 2026 both expire on 31 December 2026. The practical habit is to check your coin balance in the last week of every month and spend anything that was earned two months earlier.
Lazada Bonus expires with its campaign. Collection usually opens a few days before the sale, and the bonus must be used by the end of the sale window stated in the campaign terms. Lazada does not publish a universal rule, so the campaign page is the source.
ShopBack cashback has no expiry once it is Confirmed. The deadlines run the other way: the missing cashback report window opens 7 days after purchase and closes at 30 days, and Pending Cashback can be reduced or removed if the order is cancelled or returned. Once it is Confirmed it waits for you.
What stacks with what?
Here is where honesty matters, because "stack everything" is the advice people want and it is not quite true.
Coins and bonus with each other. They belong to different apps, so they never meet on one order.
Lazada Bonus with other Lazada vouchers. Yes, with everything except platform vouchers, per the May 2023 rule change. Seller vouchers, free shipping vouchers and bank vouchers stack on top of bonus.
Shopee Coins with Shopee vouchers. Yes, within whatever caps Shopee sets on the listing and at checkout.
ShopBack cashback with coins or bonus. Mechanically the three do not collide: the ShopBack tap-through happens before you reach the app, and coins or bonus are applied at checkout. But two cautions. First, ShopBack does not claim that its cashback stacks with any merchant's own loyalty currency, and a store's terms on its ShopBack page can exclude orders paid partly with coins or vouchers. Second, cashback is calculated on the order value the store reports, which is typically the amount paid after coins and vouchers, not the list price. So an order offset with coins can earn less ShopBack cashback, or none, depending on the store's terms. The Cashback Info section on the Shopee and Lazada ShopBack pages is the only authoritative answer.
ShopBack cashback with a second cashback site. No. Affiliate networks pay the last click. Tap ShopBack and then another cashback site and only the second one is paid.
Shopee cashback with a different seller. ShopBack Singapore states you must buy from the same Shopee seller you tapped through to; land on seller A and buy from seller B and only the minimum base rate applies, except in special cases such as upsize deals. Coins do not care which seller you buy from; the ShopBack layer does.
Where is ShopBack weaker?
- Instant gratification. Lazada Bonus comes off the price at checkout. Shopee Coins can be spent the moment they land. ShopBack cashback is Pending for weeks (and until after the trip for Agoda or Klook), then needs a S$10 balance and a bank transfer. If you want the saving today, the coupon wins.
- Small baskets. On a S$8 Shopee order, 2 percent cashback is 16 cents; a Lazada Bonus of S$6 off S$50 is a far bigger lever on a S$50 basket. Platform vouchers are designed to move the needle on campaign purchases; cashback is designed to accumulate quietly across all of them.
- Seller sensitivity. The Shopee seller rule is a genuine trap that coins do not have.
- Ecosystem perks. Coins unlock things inside Shopee (games, prizes, ShopeePay payments) that cashback has no equivalent for.
Where ShopBack is stronger is the obvious place: the money is real, it does not expire, it is earned at every partner store rather than one, and it is paid after vouchers rather than instead of them.
How to apply this
| You are | Do this | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A weekly Shopee shopper | Tap through ShopBack to the exact seller, redeem coins at checkout, check the coin balance monthly | Coins expire; cashback does not; the seller rule applies |
| A campaign shopper on Lazada (9.9, 11.11, 12.12) | Collect Lazada Bonus daily from the campaign start, tap through ShopBack, apply bonus on badged items | Bonus is first-come first-served and campaign-only |
| Someone with coins expiring this month | Spend them on a planned Shopee or ShopeePay purchase before month end | There is no extension |
| A traveller booking Agoda or Klook | Tap through ShopBack; neither coins nor bonus apply here | Only the cash layer exists on travel |
| Anyone who has not withdrawn ShopBack cashback in months | Withdraw once Confirmed passes S$10 | It is not earning anything sitting there |
- Install the ShopBack app and the Shopee and Lazada apps. Coins and bonus live in their apps; cashback starts in ShopBack.
- Start every order at ShopBack. For Shopee, search the seller, not just the platform.
- At checkout, apply bonus and redeem coins as you normally would, after reading the store's Cashback Info on ShopBack.
- Check the Pending tab within 48 hours. If the order is missing, the report window opens on day 7 and closes on day 30.
- Spend coins before month end for anything earned two months ago; withdraw cashback once Confirmed passes S$10.
What this actually means for Wei Ling
Back to the shopper from the opener, with illustrative rates.
Her Monday S$60 Shopee Supermarket order, tapped through ShopBack to the Shopee Supermarket page, earns coins on the listing and ShopBack cashback at an illustrative 2 percent (S$1.20, Pending within 48 hours, Confirmed in a few weeks). The coins she earned in October expire on 31 December 2026; she spends them on a December order.
Her 11.11 Lazada air fryer at S$189 carries the Lazada Bonus badge. She collected an illustrative S$12 off S$150 bonus from 1 November, applied it at checkout to pay S$177, and had tapped through ShopBack first. Cashback at an illustrative 3 percent is calculated on the S$177 the store reports: S$5.31, Pending, then Confirmed. The bonus did not cost her the cashback; it lowered the base.
Her S$900 Agoda hotel for Chinese New Year has no coins and no bonus. ShopBack at an illustrative 5 percent is S$45, Pending until after the stay. Add the S$38 she already had Confirmed and she withdraws S$83 to her DBS account in February, landing within 10 calendar days.
Three kinds of value, three different rules, one habit that works for all of them: start at ShopBack, use the platform's own perk at checkout, and clear the expiring one before month end.
FAQ
What exactly are Shopee Coins?
Shopee Coins are Shopee's official reward points. Per Shopee Singapore's help centre, 100 Shopee Coins are equivalent to S$1 and can be used to offset the transaction amount on Shopee orders, payments at ShopeePay merchants, digital products, and Shopee Prizes game items. You earn them from purchases, daily check-ins, games and activities in the Shopee app. They cannot be converted to cash.
What is Lazada Bonus and how does it work?
Lazada Bonus is a discount voucher Lazada hands out during campaigns such as 9.9, 11.11 and 12.12. You collect it daily in the Lazada app on a first-come first-served basis, then apply it at checkout to items marked with the Lazada Bonus badge. It is typically structured as a fixed amount off a minimum spend and is stackable with other vouchers except platform vouchers, per Lazada's May 2023 stacking rule. Each campaign sets its own collection and use window.
How is ShopBack cashback different from both?
ShopBack cashback is money, not a platform currency. You tap through ShopBack to Shopee, Lazada or any partner store, buy as normal, and a percentage comes back as Singapore dollars that you withdraw to a DBS, OCBC, UOB or other Singapore bank account once Confirmed Cashback reaches S$10. It does not expire once Confirmed, is not locked to one app, and is earned on top of whatever price you paid after vouchers.
Is ShopBack cashback worth more than Shopee Coins?
Per dollar, 100 Shopee Coins and S$1 of cashback have the same face value. The difference is what you can do with it and for how long. Coins expire at the end of the third month and only spend inside Shopee; cashback does not expire once Confirmed and spends anywhere. For a shopper who buys on Shopee every week, coins are convenient; for anyone else, a dollar in the bank is worth more than a coin that might lapse.
Is Lazada Bonus cheaper than using ShopBack on Lazada?
They are not substitutes, so there is nothing to choose between. Lazada Bonus is a discount applied at checkout on badged items; ShopBack cashback is a percentage of the order paid later. The discount lowers the price, and ShopBack cashback is calculated on the subtotal the store reports after that discount. The only question is whether Lazada's terms on its ShopBack page treat a bonus-funded order as eligible, which the Cashback Info section states.
When do Shopee Coins expire?
At the end of the third month from the month they were earned, with the earning month counted as the first, per Shopee Singapore's help centre. Coins earned at any point in October 2026 expire on 31 December 2026. Coins earned in November 2026 expire on 31 January 2027. There is no way to extend them; spend them or lose them.
When does ShopBack cashback expire?
Confirmed Cashback does not expire; ShopBack's help centre sets no deadline to withdraw. The timing that matters is the other direction: the order must appear as Pending within 48 hours, the missing cashback report window runs from 7 to 30 days after purchase, and Confirmed Cashback is withdrawn by bank transfer within 10 calendar days once you have S$10. Pending Cashback can still be reduced or removed if you cancel or return the order.
Can I use ShopBack cashback together with Shopee Coins or Lazada Bonus on one order?
Mechanically the three do not conflict, because coins and bonus are applied at checkout inside the app while ShopBack is a click-through before you get there. But ShopBack never claims its cashback stacks with a merchant's own loyalty currency, and a store's ShopBack terms can exclude orders paid partly with coins or vouchers, or calculate cashback only on the cash portion. Read the Cashback Info on the Shopee or Lazada ShopBack page before you redeem.
Does using Shopee Coins reduce my ShopBack cashback?
It can. Cashback is calculated on the order value the store reports to ShopBack, which is usually the amount paid after coins and vouchers rather than the list price. If you offset S$5 of a S$50 order with 500 coins, the store may report S$45 and cashback is calculated on S$45. Whether coin-offset orders qualify at all is in the store's terms on its ShopBack page.
What if I buy from a different Shopee seller than the one I tapped through to on ShopBack?
You drop to the minimum base rate. ShopBack Singapore states that to maximise Shopee cashback you must buy from the same seller store you landed on; land on seller A and buy from seller B and only the minimum rate applies, except in special cases such as upsize deals. Shopee Coins are unaffected by this rule because they are Shopee's own currency; only the ShopBack layer is seller-sensitive.
Key takeaways
- ShopBack cashback is cash: S$10 minimum, S$300 a day, bank transfer within 10 calendar days, no expiry once Confirmed, usable anywhere.
- Shopee Coins are a platform currency: 100 coins = S$1, Shopee ecosystem only, not convertible to cash, expire at the end of the third month.
- Lazada Bonus is a campaign coupon: collected daily, badged items only, stackable with all vouchers except platform vouchers, expires with the campaign.
- Stacking: coupon and coins at checkout, ShopBack before you get there; cashback is calculated on the amount the store reports after vouchers, and the store's Cashback Info decides eligibility.
- Shopee seller rule: tap through to the exact seller or the ShopBack layer drops to the minimum rate.
- Monthly habit: spend coins earned two months ago, collect bonus from campaign day one, withdraw cashback past S$10.
