SG September 2026 School Holidays: Bali vs Phuket vs KL Cost

Updated: September 2026

Term 3 wraps on Friday 4 September for MOE Singapore; the 9-day window through Sunday 13 September that follows is Singapore's second-biggest family-travel surge after year-end. Term 4 opens Monday 14 September. That leaves nine consecutive days off school for MOE kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools, and it lands right when regional fares and hotel inventory are tightening across Bali, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, and Batam. Here is how the four default family shortlists compare for a Singapore family of four travelling in September 2026.

The verdict

For a Singapore family of four targeting the 5 September to 13 September window, Kuala Lumpur is cheapest overall for a 5-day family trip thanks to coach or KTM ETS train transport and competitive mid-tier family hotels in Bukit Bintang and KLCC. Batam is cheapest per day and best for a 2 to 3-day resort break, particularly for families with young children who tire of transit. Phuket wins on beach-and-resort family value with short flight time and mid-tier resorts on Kata or Karon Beach that come with proper family rooms and kid-friendly facilities. Bali stretches SGD furthest per day once on the ground but pays a flight-cost premium during the September window because outbound Singapore fares climb sharply 3 to 5 weeks before departure. All four are visa-free for Singapore passport holders. Book by early to mid-August to catch the 6-week-out fare floor; the 23 to 37-day booking window that opens in mid-August loses the sharpest fares first on Bali and Phuket.

The four-destination cost breakdown

Every figure below assumes a Singapore family of four (two adults, two children ages 5 to 12), mid-range spending (three-star to four-star family hotel, mid-tier dining, standard airport transfers, two to three paid activities), and September 2026 travel dates within the 5 to 13 September window. Flights and hotels checked mid-August 2026 for departure at 23 to 37 days out. Family cost bands: budget SGD 1,200 targets Batam or KL on the tightest booking; mid SGD 2,500 hits KL or Phuket on a mid-tier flight and hotel; premium SGD 5,000 or more covers Bali family-villa or Phuket private-pool resort.

Line item	Kuala Lumpur (5 days)	Batam (3 days)	Phuket (5 days)	Bali (5 days)
Outbound cost, family of four, round trip	SGD 240 to 800 (coach, ETS train, or flights)	SGD 260 to 360 (ferry)	SGD 880 to 1,600 (Scoot, Thai AirAsia)	SGD 1,520 to 2,400 (Scoot, Indonesia AirAsia, Singapore Airlines)
Hotel or resort, family room	SGD 480 to 880 (4 nights, SGD 120 to 220 per night)	SGD 300 to 700 (2 nights, SGD 150 to 350 per night)	SGD 600 to 1,120 (4 nights, SGD 150 to 280 per night)	SGD 600 to 1,200 (4 nights, SGD 150 to 300 per night)
Food, family of four	SGD 350 to 700	SGD 180 to 400	SGD 400 to 900	SGD 320 to 780
Local transport and activities	SGD 200 to 500	SGD 120 to 300	SGD 300 to 700	SGD 350 to 800
Total (family of four)	SGD 1,270 to 2,880	SGD 860 to 1,760	SGD 2,180 to 4,320	SGD 2,790 to 5,180

Kuala Lumpur wins on total cost at the low and mid bands. Batam is a lower absolute total but assumes a 3-day trip rather than the full 5 days. Phuket is the mid-range family beach option. Bali sits highest across the range because of the four-person flight cost and September-window fare pressure.

At the high end of the range (a family of four booking a Bali two-bedroom villa in Seminyak or a Phuket private-pool resort in Kata Noi), Bali and Phuket premium bands cross above SGD 5,000 total. That is the ceiling for what a "September school holiday family getaway" typically looks like from Singapore before you enter luxury-resort territory.

Bali: flights, hotels, and 5-day itinerary cost

Flights. Three airlines fly Singapore to Denpasar direct: Scoot, Singapore Airlines, and Indonesia AirAsia (some segments via KL or Jakarta). Round-trip economy fares in the September school holiday window tracked SGD 380 to 600 per adult when checked mid-August at 3 to 5 weeks out. Children's fares typically run 10 to 20 percent lower on Scoot and AirAsia; Singapore Airlines charges the full published fare with kids meals and infant amenities included. Flight time is 2h 45m each way. Post-work Friday departure the evening of 4 September is tight; Saturday morning slots book out first for families. Consider Sunday 6 September departure to hit the mid-week fare floor.

Hotels by zone. Seminyak (SGD 150 to 260 per night for family four-star) is the beach-adjacent default with dining and shopping. Canggu (SGD 130 to 220) is younger and further from the airport, less suited to young kids because of scooter-heavy street traffic. Ubud (SGD 130 to 220) is the cultural inland option with rice-terrace hotels, but requires a 1.5 to 2-hour transfer from Denpasar each way. Nusa Dua (SGD 180 to 320) is the all-in resort zone with gated beaches, kid clubs, and easy taxi access; the closest thing to a Sentosa-style holiday in Bali. Kuta is the cheapest zone (SGD 90 to 160) but rougher on the street scene and not typically the family default.

5-day itinerary total. For a Singapore family of four staying 4 nights at Nusa Dua at SGD 220 per night, with Scoot round-trip flights averaging SGD 450 per person, private driver on 2 days at SGD 60 per day, meals at SGD 130 per day, and one Ubud day trip plus one water park entry (Waterbom Bali or similar), total lands around SGD 3,500 to 4,200 all-in. Slot Nusa Dua for gated-beach-and-pool. Slot Seminyak for beach-and-dining. Slot Ubud for cultural-and-quiet.

Booking timing. Bali fares climb sharpest inside 3 weeks during the September window because of Australian shoulder-season carry-over. If the family has flexibility on outbound day, Sunday 6 September or Monday 7 September Bali departures typically clear at SGD 30 to 80 per person below Saturday 5 September peak.

Compare Bali family flights and hotels via ShopBack Cashback on Trip.com, Agoda, Booking.com, and Traveloka at the current published rate.

Phuket: flights, hotels, and 5-day itinerary cost

Flights. Two airlines fly Singapore to Phuket direct: Scoot and Thai AirAsia (some routes via KL). Round-trip fares in the September school holiday window tracked SGD 220 to 400 per adult when checked mid-August. Flight time is 1h 55m each way, the shortest of the four September options with a direct flight. Post-work Friday 4 September evening departure is available on Scoot and AirAsia around 7pm to 10pm. Saturday morning slots book out first for families with young kids.

Hotels by zone. Patong (SGD 150 to 260 per night for family four-star) is the party strip and has the most family-hotel inventory but a busier night-time scene. Kata Beach (SGD 130 to 240) is quieter and family-friendly with mid-tier resorts. Karon Beach (SGD 130 to 220) is the quietest of the three main beach zones, best for families with young children. Phi Phi Islands (SGD 200 to 500) is a day-trip target rather than a base for a 5-day family trip because of ferry logistics. Old Town Phuket is the cheapest option but requires taxi transfers to reach any beach.

5-day itinerary total. For a family of four staying 4 nights at Kata Beach at SGD 200 per night, with Scoot round-trip flights averaging SGD 280 per person, one Phi Phi day trip via Klook at SGD 100 per person, one Splash Jungle water park entry, meals at SGD 140 per day, and airport transfers via Klook, total lands around SGD 2,900 to 3,400 all-in. Slot Kata or Karon Beach for kids under 10. Slot Patong for older kids and teens who want the beach-and-mall combo. Slot Nai Yang or Bang Tao (further north) for a quieter high-end resort experience.

Booking timing. Phuket fares stay softer than Bali across the September window because Australian school-holiday overlap is lighter on the Andaman coast than in Bali. Booking at 3 to 5 weeks out (mid to late August for 5 September departure) still catches competitive fares on Scoot and AirAsia. Inside 2 weeks, fares climb 20 to 30 percent.

Kuala Lumpur: coach, KTM ETS train, or flight from Singapore

Coach. The cheapest option: Transtar, Aeroline, KKKL, StarMart Express, and Golden Coach run Singapore to KL Sentral or Berjaya Times Square daily. One-way fares range SGD 30 to 55 per adult, children roughly 30 to 40 percent lower. Total journey time is 5 to 7 hours depending on Woodlands crossing traffic. Family of four one-way outbound: SGD 100 to 190. Round trip: SGD 200 to 380. Coach is the practical choice for families comfortable with the crossing at Woodlands or Tuas Second Link on a Friday evening.

KTM ETS train (Vistana or JB Sentral connection). KTM ETS is the Malaysian intercity train service running from Padang Besar down to Gemas, with the Singapore-side connection via Woodlands to JB Sentral (5-minute Shuttle Tebrau train) and then onward from JB Sentral north to KL Sentral. Full end-to-end journey time from Woodlands to KL Sentral is 7 to 8 hours with the connection. One-way fares from JB Sentral to KL Sentral typically run SGD 30 to 50 per adult on ETS Gold or ETS Platinum; the Shuttle Tebrau leg from Woodlands to JB Sentral is around SGD 5 per adult. Family of four round trip lands SGD 250 to 400 all-in. The train is more comfortable than coach and cleaner on schedule, but requires the two-stage connection.

Flight. Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and AirAsia fly Singapore to KL International Airport (KLIA or KLIA2) daily. One-way fares range SGD 80 to 200 per adult; flight time is 1 hour. When you add 2 to 3 hours per direction for airport transit and check-in, the total end-to-end time saving over coach or ETS train is 2 to 4 hours, at 2 to 4 times the family-of-four cost. Family of four round-trip flights typically SGD 500 to 1,200.

Hotels and attractions. Bukit Bintang (SGD 120 to 220 per night for family room) puts the family within walking distance of Pavilion, Fahrenheit88, Lot 10, Berjaya Times Square, and monorail to KL Sentral. KLCC (SGD 150 to 260 per night) gives Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC mall, and KLCC Park at doorstep. Family attractions cluster around Petronas Twin Towers observation deck (SGD 30 per adult, SGD 15 per child), Aquaria KLCC (SGD 30 per adult, SGD 22 per child), Petrosains Discovery Centre, Sunway Lagoon water park, Batu Caves temple day trip, and Genting Highlands (via Genting SkyWay cable car; SGD 12 to 18 per person; theme parks Genting SkyWorlds SGD 55 to 90 per person).

5-day itinerary total. For a family of four taking KKKL coach one way, KTM ETS return, staying 4 nights at a Bukit Bintang family room at SGD 170 per night, with meals at SGD 90 per day, Genting day trip via Klook plus Sunway Lagoon day trip, total lands around SGD 1,600 to 2,100 all-in. KL is the low-hassle high-content family destination when the priority is variety across malls, food, and one or two theme parks.

Batam: ferry cost and 3-day family package

Ferry operators. Three main operators run HarbourFront Centre or Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal in Singapore to Batam Centre, Sekupang, Nongsapura, or Harbour Bay in Batam: Sindo Ferry, Batam Fast Ferry, and Horizon Fast Ferry. One-way ferry fares typically SGD 25 to 40 per adult and SGD 18 to 28 per child, plus port fees SGD 15 to 25 per person each direction. Journey time is 55 to 90 minutes depending on terminal pairing. Family of four round-trip ferry inclusive of fees: SGD 260 to 360.

Where to stay. Turi Beach Resort at Nongsa (SGD 220 to 380 per night for family room) is the flagship family resort with private beach, pool, and Nongsapura ferry direct terminal access. Montigo Resorts Nongsa (SGD 300 to 550) is the premium villa option. Harris Resort Barelang (SGD 150 to 260) and Radisson Golf and Convention Center Batam (SGD 140 to 240) are mid-tier alternatives. Nagoya area is cheaper (SGD 80 to 150 per night) but is Batam's shopping and nightlife district, not the family-resort zone.

3-day family package cost. A typical Singapore family of four booking a 3D2N Batam package on Trip.com, Agoda, or Klook: ferry return SGD 300, 2 nights at Turi Beach or Harris Resort at SGD 260 per night (SGD 520), meals at SGD 100 per day (SGD 300 for 3 days), plus one water park (Golden City Waterpark or Marina Waterland at SGD 15 to 25 per person) and one spa or massage session. Total lands SGD 1,200 to 1,600 all-in for a 3-day trip. Batam is the "short break, high-value" option for families who want beach and resort without a flight.

When Batam suits and when it does not. Batam suits Singapore families wanting a 2 to 3-day resort break with no flight, kids under 8 who tire of long transfers, and a lower total spend. Batam does not suit families wanting cultural depth, beach-and-island exploration beyond a single resort, or a full 5-day itinerary; most Singapore families find Batam runs thin past day 3.

Booking timing at 23 to 37 days out (T-minus for 5 to 13 September)

Mid-August 2026 puts a family booking at 23 to 37 days out from a 5 September to 13 September travel window. Here is what typically remains available and what is priced up at each depth into the window.

37 to 30 days out (mid-August). Bali fares still catch the second-tier floor on Scoot and Indonesia AirAsia (SGD 400 to 500 per adult round trip); Phuket at SGD 250 to 320 per adult; KL coach and flights fully open; Batam ferries and resorts widely available. This is the window where booking captures 80 to 90 percent of the best available family combinations.

30 to 23 days out (late August). Bali fares climb SGD 60 to 120 per adult; Phuket climbs SGD 30 to 60 per adult; KL flights climb SGD 30 to 80 per adult but coach and KTM ETS remain unchanged. Bali Nusa Dua and Seminyak four-star family rooms tighten (peak school-holiday overlap). Phuket Kata and Karon inventory softer than Bali because Andaman coast lags Bali on shoulder-season demand.

23 to 15 days out (late August into early September). Bali fares hit the September peak floor: SGD 500 to 620 per adult round trip. Phuket fares climb SGD 20 to 40 per adult. Kuala Lumpur flights climb sharply (SGD 150 to 250 per adult on Saturday 5 September morning departures) but coach and KTM ETS remain unchanged and available. Batam remains flexible because ferry inventory scales with demand.

Inside 15 days. Bali family flights typically full on Saturday 5 September morning departures across Scoot and Indonesia AirAsia; Sunday and Monday departures still available at premium fares. Phuket family flights similar. KL coach and KTM ETS train the most forgiving because operator schedules run multiple daily departures.

What is already priced up by mid-August. Bali two-bedroom villas in Seminyak, Sanur, and Nusa Dua at the sub-SGD 200 per night band. Phuket private-pool family villas in Kata Noi. KL Bukit Bintang serviced apartments (Ascott, Somerset) at the sub-SGD 180 per night band during the 5 to 13 September stretch.

---

Family-of-four cost bands per destination

Destination	Budget SGD 1,200	Mid SGD 2,500	Premium SGD 5,000+
Bali	Not achievable for 5 days; 2 to 3-day flying visit only	Nusa Dua 3-night family room, mid-tier flights, no villa	4 to 5-night two-bedroom Seminyak or Nusa Dua villa, private driver, Klook activities
Phuket	3-night Karon family hotel with sale fares only	Kata Beach 4-night family room, Scoot round trip, Klook Phi Phi day	Kata Noi private-pool villa, 5-night stay, full activity list
Kuala Lumpur	4-night Bukit Bintang mid-tier family room, coach both ways	KLCC or Bukit Bintang serviced apartment, Genting and Sunway Lagoon Klook days	Serviced apartment at Pavilion, Ascott, or Grand Hyatt KL, Genting SkyWorlds full-day, private driver
Batam	2-night Turi Beach or Harris Resort family package, ferry return	3-night Montigo Resorts villa, spa, water park	3-night Montigo two-bedroom villa, full board, spa package

Budget SGD 1,200 covers Kuala Lumpur cleanly across 5 days, Batam across 2 to 3 days, Phuket only on a sale fare and shorter trip. Bali does not fit the SGD 1,200 band without cutting to a 2-night trip, which typically defeats the point of a Bali holiday. Mid SGD 2,500 opens Phuket 5-day and KL premium; Bali still needs a squeeze. Premium SGD 5,000 and above opens the two-bedroom villa option on Bali and the private-pool resort option on Phuket, both of which turn September into a proper family holiday rather than a compressed getaway.

What this means in practice

A Singapore family of four with two primary-school kids and a budget of SGD 2,000 total, wanting beach and pool with minimal transit fatigue, should target Phuket, Kata Beach. Scoot Saturday 5 September morning departure lands around 10am local time; Sunday 13 September afternoon return leaves seven full days for beach, one Phi Phi day trip, and one water park. Four-star family resort at SGD 180 per night for 4 nights (SGD 720), Scoot round trip at SGD 240 per adult and SGD 210 per child (SGD 900 total flights), meals at SGD 100 per day (SGD 500), and Klook activities SGD 300. Total lands around SGD 2,400 all-in. If cutting to 3 nights (5 to 8 September), the total drops closer to SGD 1,800.

A Singapore family of four with two young children (ages 4 and 7) wanting a low-hassle short break, should target Batam, Turi Beach or Montigo Resorts. Ferry return SGD 300, 2 nights at Turi Beach Resort family room at SGD 280 per night (SGD 560), meals at SGD 100 per day (SGD 300), one water park entry SGD 80, and one spa or Klook family activity. Total lands around SGD 1,300 all-in for a 3-day trip. Ferry from HarbourFront lands directly at Nongsapura terminal at Turi Beach, which is the shortest total-transit-time of any option in this comparison.

A Singapore family of four with two secondary-school teens wanting cultural balance and beach, on a SGD 4,500 budget, should target Bali, Nusa Dua or Seminyak. Scoot Saturday 5 September departure lands around 8pm; Saturday 12 September return. Nusa Dua four-star family resort at SGD 240 per night (SGD 960 for 4 nights), Scoot round trip at SGD 450 per adult (SGD 1,800 total flights), private driver for one Ubud day trip and one Uluwatu evening (SGD 150 total), meals at SGD 140 per day (SGD 700), and beach club plus water park activities SGD 500. Total lands around SGD 4,100 all-in. Bali's higher flight cost is absorbable across a family group where per-person hotel efficiency is high.

A Singapore family of four wanting theme parks and city, on a SGD 1,800 budget, should target Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Bintang or KLCC. KKKL coach outbound Saturday morning, KTM ETS train return Sunday afternoon (SGD 320 total transport). Bukit Bintang family room at SGD 160 per night for 4 nights (SGD 640), meals at SGD 90 per day (SGD 450), Genting SkyWorlds full-day and Aquaria KLCC entries (SGD 300). Total lands around SGD 1,700 all-in for 5 days. KL is the highest-content-per-SGD family destination when the target is variety across malls, food, and paid attractions.

When this comparison does NOT apply

• You have a specific event or activity anchor. F1 Singapore Grand Prix (typically mid to late September) shifts the local landscape; some families skip travelling to keep the F1 weekend. A regional cultural festival or sporting event overrides pure cost comparison.
• You are combining with onward travel. If Bali is the first leg of a longer Java or Lombok trip, or KL is a stopover to Penang or Langkawi, per-leg cost does not stand alone. Multi-city routing typically raises total budget by 20 to 40 percent.
• You have loyalty status pinning you to a chain. Marriott, Hilton, Accor, and IHG all present differently across the four destinations. Status upgrades often matter more than headline nightly rate for a family stay.
• You have miles or points to burn. Redemptions on Scoot, Singapore Airlines, and partner OTAs shift the flight-cost math out of the SGD range shown above; a Bali family redemption can drop the flight cost to zero and repositions Bali as the mid-range option rather than the premium option.
• Someone in the family has mobility or medical needs. Bali's rural clinics are further from Seminyak or Canggu than most Singapore families expect. Phuket has good hospital access in Patong and Phuket Town. Kuala Lumpur and Batam both have shorter transfer times and easier medical logistics.

Frequently asked questions

When are the September 2026 school holidays in Singapore?

The MOE September school holidays run from Saturday 5 September to Sunday 13 September 2026, a nine-day window between the end of Term 3 (Friday 4 September) and the start of Term 4 (Monday 14 September). The dates apply to MOE kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools. Verify against your child's school calendar and the MOE website before booking non-refundable travel.

Which destination is cheapest for a Singapore family of four in September 2026?

Kuala Lumpur is the cheapest total-cost destination for a family of four across a 5-day September holiday trip. Coach or KTM ETS train travel keeps outbound cost under SGD 200 for four people; mid-tier family hotels in Bukit Bintang or KLCC run SGD 100 to 180 per night. Batam is cheapest per day but typically works as a shorter 2 to 3-day trip. Phuket and Bali sit higher on total cost due to four-person flight cost.

How far in advance should I book September school holiday travel?

For Sat 5 September to Sun 13 September 2026 travel, book flights and hotels at least 6 weeks out. Booking at 3 to 5 weeks (the window running mid-August into early September) still leaves some Bali and Phuket inventory but at 15 to 30 percent higher fares than the 6 to 10-week booking window. Inside 3 weeks, expect Scoot and AirAsia to be full on peak Saturday morning departures; alternative flight days remain available.

Do Singapore passport holders need a visa for Bali, Phuket, KL, or Batam?

No pre-arrival visa is required for Singapore passport holders visiting any of the four destinations. Singaporeans enter Indonesia (Bali and Batam), Thailand (Phuket), and Malaysia (KL) visa-free. Passport must have at least 6 months of validity from date of entry. Confirm current entry requirements with the destination immigration authority before travel; children need their own passports.

Is KL by train, bus, or flight cheapest from Singapore?

Coach is cheapest at roughly SGD 30 to 55 one way per adult, taking 5 to 7 hours. KTM ETS train via Woodlands to Johor Bahru then onward to KL Sentral is typically SGD 40 to 65 per adult one way with connection, taking around 7 to 8 hours end to end. Direct flights on Singapore Airlines, Scoot, and AirAsia range SGD 80 to 200 one way per adult depending on booking window, flight time 1 hour but adding 2 to 3 hours for airport transit each end.

What is a realistic 5-day Bali cost for a family of four?

Budget SGD 4,500 to 6,500 all-in for a family of four across 5 days in Bali during the September holiday window, based on Scoot or Indonesia AirAsia economy round-trip flights around SGD 380 to 560 per adult, four-star family hotel or two-bedroom villa in Seminyak or Sanur at SGD 150 to 260 per night, private driver transfers at SGD 40 to 80 per day, meals at SGD 80 to 180 per family per day, and two to three paid activities (Ubud excursion, beach club, cooking class) at SGD 300 to 600 total.

Singapore to Batam ferry: how long does it take and what does it cost?

Ferry from HarbourFront Centre in Singapore to Batam Centre or Sekupang typically takes 55 to 90 minutes depending on operator and terminal. Sindo Ferry, Batam Fast Ferry, and Horizon Fast Ferry publish round-trip fares SGD 50 to 75 per adult and SGD 35 to 55 per child, plus port fees around SGD 15 to 25 per person. A family of four can budget SGD 260 to 360 for return ferry inclusive of taxes and terminal fees, checked mid-August 2026.

Are Bali and Phuket suitable for families with young children (under 8)?

Kuala Lumpur and Batam are the least demanding logistically for families with young children. KL Bukit Bintang and KLCC areas keep the entire family within walking distance of malls, indoor attractions (Aquaria KLCC, Petrosains), and hotel-based restaurants. Batam resort day passes (Turi Beach, Montigo Resorts) work well for pool-and-beach with short transfer times. Bali and Phuket both need private driver hire and longer transfer times, which stretch a young child's patience.

Best area to stay in Kuala Lumpur for a Singapore family?

Bukit Bintang and KLCC are the two default zones for a Singapore family visiting KL. Bukit Bintang puts the family within walking distance of Pavilion, Fahrenheit88, Lot 10, and easy monorail access to KL Sentral. KLCC gives Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC mall, and KLCC Park directly at doorstep. Mid-tier family rooms at Traders, Ascott, Pullman, or Impiana KLCC typically sit SGD 120 to 220 per night in September 2026.

Where does the SGD stretch furthest across the four destinations?

Bali stretches SGD furthest on the ground for daily spending: warung meals SGD 3 to 8 per person, scooter rental SGD 8 to 12, massages SGD 15 to 35. KL is close behind on food (mid-tier restaurants SGD 8 to 20 per person) and on transport (Grab short trips SGD 3 to 8). Batam sits in the middle band. Phuket runs closest to Singapore levels on tourist-strip dining. Bali's flight-cost premium partly offsets its ground-cost advantage for a family of four.

Is Bali cheaper than Phuket for a Singapore family in September 2026?

Phuket is cheaper on flights (round-trip fares SGD 220 to 400 per adult versus SGD 380 to 600 for Bali) and often on resort cost, while Bali is cheaper on ground-level daily spending (meals, transport, activities). For a 5-day trip, Phuket typically comes in SGD 500 to 1,200 lower than Bali for a family of four on total spend, mostly because of the flight-cost gap. Bali wins if you value the food and cultural experience over cost.

When do September school holiday flight prices from Singapore drop the most?

The fare floor typically sits 8 to 12 weeks before the September holiday window (early June through mid-July for Bali and Phuket). Prices rise gradually from 6 weeks out and steepen sharply inside 4 weeks. For September 2026 travel, the pricing floor was mid-June to mid-July; by mid-August fares were 15 to 30 percent higher; inside 3 weeks 40 to 60 percent higher. There is no last-minute price drop for the September window because it is a fixed school holiday demand peak.

How many days does ShopBack cashback take to process on September travel bookings?

Cashback typically posts as pending within 48 to 72 hours of the completed booking on Trip.com, Agoda, Booking.com, and Klook. Confirmation happens after the trip is completed and the merchant's refund window closes, usually 60 to 90 days after the stay or activity date. Travel cashback takes longer than retail because merchants only pay commission after the trip is used, not at booking.

Does ShopBack cashback apply on Klook activities booked for Bali or Phuket?

Yes. Klook activities including Bali Ubud tours, Phuket island-hopping day trips, Batam ferry tickets, and Batam resort day passes are all eligible for ShopBack cashback when routed through the ShopBack app or browser extension. Verify the current published rate on the Klook merchant page on ShopBack before booking. Combine hotel and activity bookings through ShopBack to accumulate cashback across the whole trip.
