Is iHerb's Membership or Rewards Program Worth It in Singapore 2026?
Is iHerb's rewards program worth it in Singapore in 2026? It is free and automatic when you open an account, but its credits come from referrals (10% for a new customer, 5% for an existing one) and reviews (US$1 each, up to 40 a year), and they expire 30 days after they land, according to iHerb. How it compares with Subscribe & Save and where ShopBack Singapore fits before you pay.
Is iHerb's Membership or Rewards Program Worth It in Singapore 2026?
For most shoppers in Singapore, iHerb's Rewards Program is worth having because it costs nothing and switches on when you open an account, but it only pays out if you refer other shoppers or write reviews. According to iHerb, referral credits are 10% of a new customer's qualifying order and 5% of an existing customer's, each approved review earns US$1 up to 40 a year, and credits expire 30 days after they land. For repeat buys, Subscribe & Save takes up to 10% off.
New to ShopBack? ShopBack Singapore is a free website and app that gives you cash back on eligible online orders, including iHerb orders placed on sg.iherb.com. You start from ShopBack, shop on iHerb as usual, and the cash lands in your ShopBack account once the order is confirmed. Create a free ShopBack account before your next iHerb order.
The key numbers, from iHerb at the time of writing:
- Cost to join the Rewards Program: nothing. You are enrolled when you create a valid iHerb account.
- Referral credits: 10% of a new customer's qualifying order, 5% of an existing customer's (as of 1 June 2026).
- Review credits: US$1 per approved review, up to 40 reviews per calendar year.
- Credit expiry: 30 days after the credit appears in your account (as of 1 June 2026).
- Pending period for referral credits: generally about 35 days after the referred order.
- Subscribe & Save: up to 10% off eligible items, no fees, skip or cancel anytime.
- Free shipping to Singapore: on orders over SG$30, as shown on sg.iherb.com.
- Scale: iHerb's rewards page says more than $98.2 million in credits were rewarded and more than 3.9 million orders used rewards in 2025.
Is iHerb's membership or rewards program worth it?
It is worth switching on for most people because joining costs nothing, but how much it is worth depends almost entirely on whether you share referral links or write reviews. iHerb does not pay you credits simply for buying. Its terms describe two ways to earn: when someone orders through your Rewards Link or Rewards Code, and when you post an eligible review of a product you bought.
Here is how that plays out for three typical Singapore shoppers:
- The quiet buyer who orders a few times a year and never shares links. The Rewards Program earns little beyond review credits. If you review 10 products a year, that is about US$10 in credits, according to iHerb's US$1 per review rule.
- The regular reviewer who reviews most products. iHerb caps review credits at 40 a calendar year, so the ceiling is about US$40 a year from reviews alone.
- The sharer whose friends and family order through their link. A friend placing a first qualifying order of S$100 would earn the sharer about 10% of that order as credit under iHerb's 1 June 2026 terms, and 5% on later orders from existing customers.
The catch for everyone is the 30-day expiry. Credits that appear in your account have to be used within 30 days, so they suit people who order about monthly. If you order every few months, credits may lapse before your next basket.
It is worth less if you order rarely, prefer not to share codes, or would rather have savings you can withdraw as cash. iHerb's terms say Rewards Credits are not redeemable for cash and can only be spent on future iHerb orders.
iHerb's membership and rewards program: how it works
iHerb's Rewards Program is a referral and review scheme rather than a points or tier membership. According to iHerb's terms of use:
- You join automatically. When you create a valid account, you are enrolled and get a personal Rewards Link and Rewards Code.
- You share the link or code. You can share from a product page, a category page, a cart, or your order history. A referred customer has seven days after clicking your link to complete their order.
- Credits go to Pending first. Referral credits are generally posted about 35 days after the referred order, which gives iHerb time to handle cancellations and returns.
- Credits become Available. After that period, they show as Available Credit and apply automatically to your next order when you are signed in.
- Credits expire. As of 1 June 2026, credits from referrals and reviews expire 30 days after they appear in your account.
Review credits work faster. iHerb says approved review credits are made available immediately, at US$1 per eligible review, one review per product, up to 40 a year. To qualify, you must have bought the product from iHerb, the purchase must be after 1 July 2020, and the review must meet iHerb's content guidelines.
iHerb also runs occasional contests and promotions that give Promotional Rewards Credits. These have their own expiry dates and rules, which iHerb says you need to check in each promotion's terms.
Is iHerb's rewards program worth it in Singapore in 2026?
For Singapore shoppers in 2026, the Rewards Program is a free perk worth switching on, and Subscribe & Save is usually the more reliable saving on items you reorder. The 2026 changes matter here: iHerb's terms set the current referral rates, the 40-review yearly cap and the 30-day expiry as of 1 June 2026, so older guides you find online may describe a different setup.
A few Singapore-specific points help you judge it:
- Free shipping sits at SG$30. At the time of writing, sg.iherb.com shows free shipping to Singapore on orders over SG$30. A small credit is most useful when it helps you reach that line without paying shipping.
- Credits are in iHerb's accounting, not Singapore dollars you can withdraw. The terms describe credits as amounts you spend on future iHerb purchases only.
- The 30-day clock is tight for occasional buyers. If you order every two or three months, plan an order around the time credits land so they do not lapse.
iHerb membership rewards benefits in Singapore 2026: what you actually get
Put side by side, here is what each iHerb programme gives a Singapore shopper, according to iHerb's own pages at the time of writing:
| Programme | Cost | What you get | Main limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rewards Program (referrals) | Free | 10% of a new customer's qualifying order, 5% of an existing customer's, as credit | Credit only, expires 30 days after it appears, not cash |
| Rewards Program (reviews) | Free | US$1 credit per approved review | Up to 40 reviews a year, one per product |
| Promotional Rewards Credits | Free | Credits from iHerb contests and promotions | Rules and expiry set by each promotion |
| Subscribe & Save | No fees | Up to 10% off eligible items, or a greater available discount | Eligible items only, scheduled deliveries |
Neither programme charges a membership fee, and there is no paid tier to buy. The practical question is not "should I pay to join" but "which of these savings should I use on this order".
iHerb's official membership programme and its benefits
iHerb's terms of use name two official customer programmes: the iHerb Rewards Program and iHerb Subscribe & Save. Both are run by iHerb on its own site, and both are free to use.
Subscribe & Save is the one most shoppers use for routine items. iHerb's Subscribe & Save page says you save up to 10% on every Subscribe & Save order, or get a greater available discount, with no fees and no commitments. You choose eligible products, set the quantity and how often they arrive, and you can add or remove products, skip a delivery or cancel anytime. It suits daily supplements such as vitamins or fish oil that you reorder on a predictable schedule.
The Rewards Program is the referral and review scheme described above. iHerb's terms also set its ground rules: credits are not saleable or transferable, each account must belong to a different living person, credits may not be combined with different promotions, and iHerb can pause or block accounts that break its terms.
What iHerb's own site says about membership rewards
If you search iHerb's own site for membership or rewards rules, the fullest source is the Rewards Program section of iHerb's terms of use, plus the rewards dashboard in your account. The points that most often surprise shoppers, all from iHerb's terms:
- Credits apply automatically. iHerb says Rewards Credits and Promotional Rewards Credits apply to your future orders and appear in your cart when you sign in.
- The last link wins. For a referred order, iHerb credits the Rewards Link or Code used last before the order was finalised.
- Referral links cannot go on commercial sites. iHerb prohibits placing Rewards Links and Codes on deal or coupon sites, browser extensions and similar platforms.
Can you use iHerb Rewards and ShopBack on the same order?
Usually not, so treat them as a choice per order rather than a combination. At the time of writing, ShopBack's iHerb terms say orders containing iHerb reward codes, promo codes or credits not explicitly provided by ShopBack are not eligible. Because iHerb says available credits apply to your cart automatically, check your cart before you pay, and check the merchant's terms and the terms section on ShopBack's iHerb page.
A simple way to decide:
- You have credits about to expire: use them on iHerb. They are worth nothing after 30 days.
- You have no credits and no code: go through ShopBack before you check out.
- You are buying a repeat item on a schedule: compare Subscribe & Save with going through ShopBack for a one-off order, because ShopBack's iHerb terms list Autoship and Save orders among exclusions at the time of writing.
iHerb and ShopBack Singapore in 2026: how it works
On iHerb orders without credits or codes, going through ShopBack Singapore is an essential step before you check out. Just as with merchants like Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia, starting from ShopBack before you check out means you pay less on the same order. Think of ShopBack as a post-purchase discount: go through it before you pay and the effective price drops.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. That is the main difference from iHerb Rewards Credits, which you can only spend on iHerb within 30 days.
How to do it:
- Open the iHerb page on ShopBack in the ShopBack app or on shopback.sg.
- Check the live rate and the terms section on that page.
- Tap through to sg.iherb.com and build your basket. Aim for the SG$30 free shipping line.
- Check out on the iHerb website in the same session, shipping to Singapore. ShopBack's iHerb terms say only orders completed on sg.iherb.com and shipped to Singapore count, and iHerb app orders are excluded at the time of writing.
- Watch the order appear in your ShopBack account, then withdraw the cash once it is confirmed.
A worked example, clearly illustrative: on a S$80 iHerb order at an illustrative 3%, S$2.40 comes back, so the effective price is S$77.60. The real rate changes, so check the live rate on the iHerb page on ShopBack before you pay.
ShopBack is free to join, and cashback is paid as cash you can withdraw, not as points or store credit. Sign up for ShopBack Singapore if you have not yet.
Other places Singapore shoppers buy supplements
If you are comparing where to buy vitamins and supplements online in Singapore, iHerb sits alongside Watsons, Guardian, Shopee and Lazada, each with its own range, delivery terms and member offers. Check each store's own page for current prices before you buy.
