History of Accor Live Limitless
Started by Paul Dubrule and Gérard Pélisson, Accor Live Limitless was originally a group known as Société d investissement et d exploitation hôteliers (SIEH). It was established in 1967, the same year they opened the Novotel hotel in Lille, France. In 1974, they launched the famous ibis brand of hotels. In the following years, SIEH acquired Mercure, Courtepaille, and the Sofitel hotel brands. In 1982, SIEH bought Jacques Borel International, a world-famous brand at that time, known for their restaurant vouchers. In 1983, the group was officially known as the Accor Group. After some years, the group entered the North American market. In 1990s, the company expanded to include Accor Casinos. In June 2010, the Accor Group separated its hotel and voucher businesses.
