What FairPrice Discounts Do Seniors and CHAS Cardholders Get in 2026?
In Singapore, FairPrice gives seniors aged 60 and above 2% off on Tuesdays, Pioneer Generation cardholders 3% on Mondays and Wednesdays, Merdeka Generation cardholders 3% on Wednesdays, and CHAS Blue and Orange cardholders 6% on Thursdays and Fridays. FairPrice discounts for seniors and CHAS cardholders: the weekly timetable
FairPrice runs a fixed weekly timetable of discount days, and the day you shop decides which scheme you can use. Here is the schedule FairPrice publishes on its savings page, at the time of writing:
| Day | Who qualifies | Discount | What to show in store |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | Pioneer Generation cardholders | 3% | Pioneer Generation card |
| Tuesday | Seniors aged 60 and above | 2% | NRIC |
| Wednesday | Pioneer and Merdeka Generation cardholders | 3% | Pioneer or Merdeka Generation card |
| Thursday | CHAS Blue cardholders | 6% | CHAS card |
| Friday | CHAS Orange cardholders | 6% | CHAS card |
The S$200 daily cap in plain numbers: FairPrice caps each scheme at S$200 total spend per customer per day. That means the most you can save in one day is S$12 on a CHAS day (6% of S$200), S$6 on a Pioneer or Merdeka day (3% of S$200) and S$4 on the Tuesday seniors day (2% of S$200). If your weekly shop is bigger than S$200, splitting it across two qualifying days can help, for example a Pioneer Generation senior shopping on both Monday and Wednesday.
Where the discounts work: FairPrice supermarkets, including Scan & Go, self-checkout and cashier lanes, and Unity Pharmacy. The CHAS discount also works on FairPrice Online. FairPrice notes the auto-applied discount is not available at Unity stores in Changi Airport.
How much is the FairPrice CHAS discount in 2026?
From 3 September 2026 to 1 January 2027 inclusive, CHAS Blue and CHAS Orange cardholders get 6% off eligible FairPrice purchases, according to FairPrice's CHAS terms. CHAS Blue cardholders use it on Thursdays and CHAS Orange cardholders on Fridays.
The key rules, as FairPrice states them:
- Cap: S$200 total spend per customer per day, so up to S$12 off a day.
- Where: FairPrice supermarkets, FairPrice Online and Unity Pharmacy.
- In store: show your physical or digital CHAS card at checkout.
- Online and in the app: update your FairPrice Group app profile through Myinfo to be eligible.
- Delivery perk: CHAS Blue and Orange cardholders get a service fee waiver (worth S$3.99, with a S$100 minimum spend) on online and Express delivery orders on their CHAS day. FairPrice notes a S$5 delivery fee still applies to orders below S$59.
Because the 6% rate has an end date, check FairPrice's savings page for what applies after 1 January 2027.
If your CHAS card was renewed or changed colour, FairPrice's help centre says an Update now button appears in the Edit profile page of the FairPrice Group app when your CHAS card is expiring within 30 days. Tap it and follow the steps so the right discount keeps applying.
FairPrice CHAS discount in Singapore: how to get it applied automatically
The simplest way to get any FairPrice senior or CHAS discount is to update your FairPrice Group app profile through Myinfo, after which the discount applies when you scan the Pay or Earn QR code at checkout. For auto-applied discounts, FairPrice says your profile must show a Last Verified Date on or after 22 May 2025.
Steps:
- Download the FairPrice Group app and log in or sign up.
- Go to your profile and choose the Myinfo update option.
- Log in with Singpass and approve the details to share.
- Check that your profile shows a recent Last Verified Date.
- At the cashier or Scan & Go, scan the Pay or Earn QR code in the app.
If you prefer not to use the app, you can still show your NRIC, Pioneer or Merdeka Generation card, or CHAS card at the cashier on the right day.
Seniors, Pioneer and Merdeka Generation discounts at FairPrice
Seniors aged 60 and above get 2% off on Tuesdays, Pioneer Generation cardholders 3% on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Merdeka Generation cardholders 3% on Wednesdays, all capped at S$200 spend a day. These schemes are in store only. FairPrice says the Seniors, Pioneer Generation and Merdeka Generation discounts are not available online because customers have to be physically present for verification.
A few rules worth knowing:
- The cardholder must be there. FairPrice asks the senior or cardholder to be present and show their NRIC or card.
- Promo codes on Scan & Go: FairPrice's help centre says Scan & Go does not currently support stacking these generational discounts with promo codes.
- Linkpoints still count. Link members earn Linkpoints on the final amount after the discount.
What is excluded from the senior and CHAS discounts?
FairPrice's terms exclude a short list of items from all of these schemes, mainly regulated goods, gift cards and fees. At the time of writing the list includes:
- Marketplace and direct fulfilment products on FairPrice Online, which are sold and shipped by third-party sellers.
- Infant formula milk powder for 0 to 12 months.
- Tobacco and alcoholic drinks.
- 4D, TOTO and Singapore Sweep.
- FairPrice Group gift cards and gift vouchers.
- Carrier bags, consultation, delivery and service fees.
- Donation products and bundles.
FairPrice can change these terms, so read its current terms before a big shop.
Does NTUC FairPrice have a student discount?
FairPrice's published discount schemes cover seniors, Pioneer and Merdeka Generation cardholders, and CHAS Blue and Orange cardholders; a student scheme is not part of that list at the time of writing. So when you search for FairPrice student discount terms, the official schemes you will find are the ones in the timetable above.
What students can still use, according to FairPrice:
- Free Link membership: Link members earn 0.50 Linkpoints for every S$1 spent, with no minimum spend, and can use Linkpoints to offset purchases.
- FairPrice housebrand: FairPrice says its housebrand products are 10% to 15% cheaper than comparable products from popular brands, across more than 2,000 daily essentials.
- Weekly promotions and app-only vouchers in the FairPrice Group app.
- Going through ShopBack for FairPrice Online orders, covered below.
If you sign up for FairPrice membership, FairPrice says members get 2% savings in Linkpoints at the point of purchase plus a further 2% patronage rebate in Linkpoints, subject to declaration at FairPrice's annual general meeting and capped at S$6,000 of spend.
Where to find FairPrice's official discount terms
FairPrice publishes the discount timetable on its Greater Value and Savings page on fairprice.com.sg and the full terms in its help centre at help.fairprice.com.sg. A search like "site:fairprice.com.sg student discount" will mostly surface those same pages, since FairPrice lists its schemes in one place. If a social media post or third-party site describes a FairPrice discount that is not on those pages, treat it with care.
How ShopBack fits into your FairPrice shopping
ShopBack lowers the effective price of flights, hotels and online orders after you pay, and FairPrice Online is one of those online stores. For merchants like FairPrice Online, just as with travel sites such as Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia, going through ShopBack is an essential step before you check out, so you pay less on the same order.
How it works for a FairPrice Online order:
- Open the FairPrice Online page on ShopBack in the ShopBack app or on shopback.sg and check the live rate and terms.
- Tap through to FairPrice Online and finish your order in the same visit.
- Wait for tracking and confirmation. The ShopBack page shows how long each usually takes.
- Withdraw once it is confirmed.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. The rate changes, so check the live rate on the FairPrice Online page on ShopBack before you order.
Read the terms on the ShopBack FairPrice Online page before you order, including which order channels qualify, since terms can differ between the website and the merchant's own app.
Using the CHAS discount and ShopBack on the same online order
Usually the two work separately: FairPrice applies the CHAS discount at checkout, and ShopBack is based on the eligible amount you actually pay. For example, a CHAS Blue cardholder with a S$120 FairPrice Online order on a Thursday would see 6% (S$7.20) taken off, paying S$112.80, and any ShopBack amount would then be worked out on the eligible paid amount. Whether a given order qualifies depends on the terms on the ShopBack FairPrice Online page, so check the merchant's terms before you order. The senior, Pioneer and Merdeka discounts are in store only, so they do not apply to FairPrice Online orders.
Other grocery stores to compare
Other grocery stores Singapore shoppers often compare with FairPrice include Sheng Siong, Cold Storage, Giant and RedMart, so it is worth checking which of your regular stores you can open through ShopBack Singapore before you shop online.
