Sephora Membership in Singapore 2026: Is Beauty Pass Worth It?
Is Sephora's Beauty Pass membership worth it in Singapore in 2026? It is free to join, every S$1 spent earns 1 point, Black status needs S$300 within 12 months and Gold S$1,500, and points expire after a year, according to Sephora Singapore. What each tier gets, and where ShopBack Singapore fits before you pay.
Sephora Membership in Singapore 2026: Is Beauty Pass Worth It?
For most shoppers in Singapore who buy at Sephora a few times a year, Sephora's Beauty Pass membership is worth joining because it is free, and it gets more useful the more regularly you shop. According to Sephora Singapore, every S$1 spent earns 1 point, all three tiers get a birthday gift, Black status needs S$300 of spend within 12 months and Gold needs S$1,500. Points expire after a year, so occasional shoppers get less out of it.
New to ShopBack? ShopBack Singapore is a free website and app that gives you cash back on eligible online orders, including orders on sephora.sg. You start from ShopBack, shop on Sephora as usual, and the cash lands in your ShopBack account once the order is confirmed. Create a free ShopBack account before your next Sephora order.
The key numbers, from Sephora Singapore at the time of writing:
- Cost to join: free. You are a White member as soon as you sign up.
- Points: 1 point per S$1 spent, excluding gift card purchases and shipping.
- Black tier: S$300 accumulated spend within 12 months of signing up.
- Gold tier: S$1,500 accumulated spend within 12 months of reaching Black.
- Tier status: valid for 12 months.
- One-time points: 50 for creating an account, 40 for downloading the app, 50 for completing your Beauty Profile.
- Review points: 5 points per product reviewed.
- Points expiry: one year, at the end of the month they were earned.
- Delivery: free standard delivery from S$35, S$6 below that, usually 1 to 2 working days.
Is Sephora's membership or rewards program worth it?
For most regular beauty shoppers it is, because it costs nothing and turns spend you were going to make anyway into points, gifts and member access. How much it is worth depends on how often you shop and how much you spend in a year.
Here is how that plays out for three typical Singapore shoppers:
- The once-or-twice-a-year buyer. You stay at White, earn 1 point per S$1, and get a birthday gift in your birthday month. The 50 welcome points and 40 app points give your balance a start. Because points expire a year after the month they were earned, small balances may lapse before you use them.
- The monthly restocker. At around S$25 a month, you reach S$300 within 12 months and move up to Black. Your spend keeps earning points, and the higher tier is valid for 12 months.
- The heavy prestige buyer. Spending S$1,500 within 12 months of reaching Black lifts you to Gold, which Sephora marks with a welcome gift you can claim for a month after the upgrade.
It is worth less if you mostly buy one or two items a year, or shop across several stores and never build a balance at any one of them.
Sephora membership: how Beauty Pass works
Beauty Pass is Sephora's free loyalty programme in Singapore. According to Sephora Singapore's help centre:
- You sign up on the Sephora app or website. You create an account with your email or a social login and confirm it with a one-time code.
- You earn points on purchases. Every S$1 spent earns 1 point, in store or online, as long as you are signed in or show your virtual Beauty Pass card.
- You earn points for other actions. Reviews earn 5 points per product, and there are one-time points for signing up, downloading the app and filling in your Beauty Profile. Sephora also runs bonus points promotions, such as 2x points in your birthday month.
- You redeem rewards with a purchase. Sephora says rewards can be redeemed only with a purchase of merchandise, and only in the country where your Beauty Pass is registered. Online, you pick rewards in your bag under "Redeem Beauty Pass Rewards".
- Your tier is reviewed on spend. Black and Gold are based on accumulated spend within 12 months, and each status lasts 12 months.
Sephora membership in Singapore 2026: tiers and thresholds
In Singapore in 2026, Beauty Pass has three tiers: White, Black and Gold. Sephora Singapore sets them out like this:
| Tier | How to reach it | Status valid for | What Sephora lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| White | Sign up for Beauty Pass, free | Ongoing | Points on spend, birthday gift, rewards redemption |
| Black | S$300 accumulated spend within 12 months of signing up | 12 months | Points on spend, birthday gift, rewards redemption |
| Gold | S$1,500 accumulated spend within 12 months of reaching Black | 12 months | Points on spend, birthday gift, Gold welcome gift, rewards redemption |
Sephora's delivery page also notes a limited-time free standard shipping offer for Gold members on any online or app order, so check sephora.sg for whether it still runs when you order.
Sephora membership rewards benefits: are they worth it in Singapore 2026?
The benefits are worth it if you shop at Sephora regularly, mainly because points, gifts and member access come with no fee. Here is what each benefit is worth in practice:
- Points. At 1 point per S$1, a S$300 year earns about 300 points before any bonuses. Points turn into rewards you choose from Sephora's Rewards Boutique with a purchase. The one-year expiry means you should redeem at least once a year.
- Birthday gift. Sephora Singapore says White, Black and Gold members all get a birthday gift, redeemable online or in-store during the birthday month only. Sephora also lists 2x points as a birthday bonus.
- Gold welcome gift. Gold members get a gift to mark the tier upgrade, claimable for one month after reaching Gold.
- Beauty Passport. Your membership works in Sephora stores in Australia, Hong Kong SAR, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand, where you can earn points and use the local Rewards Boutique. Handy if you travel often in the region.
- Member sales. Sephora runs member events for Beauty Pass holders from time to time. Dates and discounts are set per event, so check sephora.sg rather than planning around a fixed percentage.
Sephora's official membership programme and its benefits
Sephora's official membership programme in Singapore is Beauty Pass, run by Sephora on sephora.sg, the Sephora app and in its stores. It is free, it has the three tiers above, and Sephora's help centre is the official source for its rules. The parts shoppers most often miss:
- In-store sign-ups need activating online. Sephora's help centre has guidance for members who signed up in a store and want to use the same membership online.
- Forgot to show your card in store? Sephora has a process for getting points from an in-store purchase credited after the fact.
- Points exclude gift cards and shipping. Buying a Sephora gift card earns nothing for the buyer; the points go to whoever redeems the card.
- Rewards are country-locked. Redemptions happen only in the country where you registered, even though Beauty Passport lets you earn points across seven markets.
Can you earn Beauty Pass points and use ShopBack on the same order?
In most cases a regular sephora.sg order can earn both, because Sephora awards points on your spend while ShopBack returns cash separately. The exceptions come from codes and order types. At the time of writing, ShopBack's Sephora terms exclude Sephora app purchases and purchases made with vouchers or promo codes not featured on ShopBack. Check the merchant's terms and the terms section on ShopBack's Sephora page before you pay, and if a code is worth more than the rate shown on ShopBack, use whichever saving is bigger for that order.
Sephora and ShopBack Singapore in 2026: how it works
On sephora.sg orders, going through ShopBack Singapore is an essential step before you check out. Just as with merchants like Booking.com, Trip.com, Agoda and Expedia, starting from ShopBack before you check out means you pay less on the same order. ShopBack works like an automatic cash discount on your online order.
Cashback lowers what you actually pay for an order. It comes back as cash, so it works like a discount on the price, not like points or miles. That makes it different from Beauty Pass points, which you redeem for Sephora rewards.
How to do it:
- Open the Sephora page on ShopBack in the ShopBack app or on shopback.sg.
- Check the live rate and the terms section on that page.
- Tap through to sephora.sg and sign in to your Beauty Pass account so your points still count.
- Build your basket. Aim for S$35 or more for free standard delivery.
- Check out on the Sephora website in the same session, not in the Sephora app.
- Watch the order appear in your ShopBack account, then withdraw the cash once it is confirmed.
A worked example: a S$120 Sephora order still earns about 120 Beauty Pass points from Sephora, and the cash that comes back through ShopBack lowers what you actually pay. The rate changes and can differ for new and existing Sephora customers, so check the live rate on the Sephora page on ShopBack before you pay.
ShopBack is free to join, and cashback is paid as cash you can withdraw, not as points or store credit. Sign up for ShopBack Singapore if you have not yet.
