2. Via bus
The cheapest option to reach Mersing Jetty is through riding a bus. You may choose to book a ticket from WTS Coach or Five Stars Express. One-way ticket from WTS Coach is 40 SGD and 31.50 SGD from Five Stars Express. It takes about three hours to get to Mersing Jetty, depending on the traffic situation. Note that there is only one available bus service per day, so be sure to book your tickets ahead of time. Even if this is the most affordable option going to Rawa Island, it is also the most tiring one. You need to disembark from the bus twice, one at the Singapore Woodlands Checkpoint and the other at Johor Custom, with all your stuff and queue for 40 minutes to one hour each immigration.
3. Via ferry
Once in Mersing Jetty, you can ride an hour ferry going to Rawa Island. The ticket costs approximately 12 SGD per person and the ferry departs every one to two hours between 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Make it a point to get to Mersing Jetty during this time frame to catch the ferry. The trip schedule might change due to tidal conditions, so it’s important to check the weather first.
4. Via boat
The resorts in Rawa Island offer boat transfers from Mersing Jetty. You can ask for a boat arrangement from the resort you’re checking in. And it will only take you 30 minutes once you choose a boat transfer to Rawa Island. Only the Rawa Safaris boats can be serviced on the island as it is a private one. Additionally, there are more boat transfers available during peak season and no fixed departure time.
