The only season Singaporeans care about is Durian season. And this year is looking to be a great season! Many durian stall owners have revealed that due to the good weather this year, there is an abundance of durians from Pahang and Johor. This means only one thing: CHEAPER MAO SHAN WANG.

So, empty out your car trunk and stuff some old newspapers in it, cause we are about to go durian shopping!

1. Combat Durian

Combat Durian got its name when the owner, Mr Ang Seck Puan wanted to get his customers to ‘come back’. But due to a spelling error, the sign printed out Combat Durian. It has absolutely nothing to do with the military or fighting!

The only militaristic thing in Combat Durian is Mr Ang’s manner in selecting his durians. He is well known for being extremely picky in what he sells and this ensures you always buy top quality durians from him.

The stall has been around for more than 50 years and is located right beside the Goh Chor Tua Pek Kong Temple. You can’t go wrong with Combat Durian when even actor Chow Yun Fatt is a fan of them.
