If you’re looking for a good scare this spooky season, it’s hard to beat Thai horror movies.

The Thai people have created some of the best hair-raising films that will leave you screaming. Ready for an adrenaline-pumping and heart-racing scare-athon? These are some of the best Thai horror movies to get you started.

1. Shutter (2004)

Even if you’re not a hardcore horror movie fan, the movie “Shutter” will ring a bell. It’s one of the most popular horror flicks in Asia that even launched a Hollywood remake.

A pale-skinned ghost with dishevelled long hair and a spine-chilling plot twist? You just know it’s going to be scary good. Shutter makes for the ultimate horror film that will give you sleepless nights.

2. Coming Soon (2008)

Ever had the feeling of deja vu?

“Coming Soon” revolves around a story of a haunted movie about a crazy old lady that tortures children. Soon after screening in theatres, strange events started to befall on the people who had seen the film. The plot of “Coming Soon” is often compared to the popular Japanese horror film “The Ring” but this Thai horror movie promises more gore, drama, and a plot twist that will blow your mind.

3. Laddaland (2011)

Laddaland is another successful Thai horror movie that reached the peak of Thai box office. The film tells the story of a family that moves to a new neighbourhood called Laddaland. After moving in, the family starts to experience strange and supernatural incidents.

Tension rises in the family as the paranormal activity persists. Don’t forget to grab some tissues because the heart-wrenching ending will leave you emotional.

4. Alone (2007)

A story of love, revenge and haunting. The award-winning Thai film “Alone” follows conjoined twins, Pim and Ploy, who are separated through surgery. Only one of the twins survives and leaves Thailand for South Korea.

Years later after coming back to her home country, she starts to be haunted by her dead twin. Thai movies are really good in incorporating shocking plot twists in their storyline, and you can expect the same for “Alone”. Prepare to be a little jumpy after watching the film.

5. 4bia (2008)

Four horror stories in one movie? What more could you ask for? 4bia is a horror anthology directed by four different filmmakers. Each of the four horror tales has their own main character and theme: an accident victim, a bullied teenager, a ghost story and a deceased princess. Although the stories are not linked, the characters are somehow eerily involved and connected with each other. It’s short, sweet, and four times the horror.

6. Train of the Dead (2007)

The title basically says it all: a train full of dead people. When five lawless crooks evaded the police after a robbery gone wrong, they found themselves boarding a train inhabited by ghosts. The passengers onboard are being ferried to their final spiritual destination, and they intend to take the five new passengers with them. You might not be able to take the night train for a while after watching this.

Here are some of the best Thai horror movies to have yourself scared witless! Stay home for a night of horror and spooks and order in some snacks from honestbee or have something delivered from Deliveroo.
