Fantastic Christmas Desserts to Try During This Festive Season

1. Ben & Jerry’s

Ben & Jerry’s is bringing the Cone-Deer (price varies depending on your choice of ice cream) back this yuletide season and it’s sure to be a big hit again among kids and those with a weakness for the ice cream parlour’s euphoric creations.

The adorable treat consists of a scoop of Ben & Jerry’s finest (of your choice), served in a house-made waffle cone, with salted pretzel antlers, and chocolate drops for eyes. Unlike Rudolph’s very shiny nose, the Cone-Deer has a very tasty nose instead – a dried cranberry, just in case you’re wondering.

The scarlet lager and green spirulina-infused beer are both brewed by locally owned microbrewery RedDot BrewHouse and are just two of the 12 craft beers on tap that are rotated on a fortnightly basis.

While the Green Monster is available at RedDot BrewHouse perennially, the ruby beverage is a Hustle Co. exclusive that is only available during this Christmas season.

8. InterContinental Singapore

The humble fruitcake is a Christmas classic that is often indiscriminately used as a doorstop or tossed out for being leaden and cloyingly sweet. However, InterContinental’s Carousel Fruit Cake ($98, 800gm) is anything but.

Apart from being the prettiest fruitcake we’ve seen by far, we like that the cake has a well-balanced ratio of rum-kissed, candied fruits to cake base. And after a taste test by a ShopBacker – who is also an expert baker – we learnt that it was also basted in brandy to help it stay moist.

The fondant icing adds a welcomed touch of sugary goodness, which should make this a big hit with your party guests. Oh, and did we mention that you can enjoy an exclusive 5% discount if you purchase yours online?

9. L’éclair by Sarah Michelle

For the perfect Christmas dessert that your party guests would be talking about for months on end, look no further than L’éclair by Sarah Michelle, who makes speciality éclairs that are almost too pretty to eat. This holiday, the patissier has created six Christmas flavours: the mildly alcoholic Strawberry Cognac, the quintessentially Christmas Chestnut & Fig, as well as a Blackforest éclair which is filled with 64% dark chocolate crème.

Pictured below (from left to right) are the Paris Brest (praline cream), White Chocolate Cranberry, and the Blood Orange Chocolate.

10. Neon Pigeon

This modern izakaya (Japanese bar) is renowned for serving “Progressive Japanese” fare, which is Head Chef Justin Hammond’s take on Japanese flavours with an innovative twist. Naturally, Neon Pigeon’s Christmas dessert is anything but boring as it is a playful iteration of the classic eggnog and gingerbread men that is often served after everyone’s stuffed with turkey. Speaking of the big Christmas bird, Neon’s Pigeon Yakiturkey is a must-try!

If you order the Miso Caramel Eggnog, it will be served in glasses with a side of Gingerbread Ninjas ($10, one set). Perfect for dipping into the creamy, sweet beverage which has just a hint of savoury from the miso.
