With new laptops being released almost every other month, it can be tough keeping up with the latest news. I like to think that there is no single “best” laptop out there and it is more of what is best for your needs.
After the in-depth review on both the Acer Swift 5 and Swift 7 models, I’ve decided to dive a little deeper and compare the two to decide which one is really the best for you. And whether that extra $$ is worth the upgrade.
First, the difference in specs. I won’t be going too detailed on this as it was already done for the individual pieces. So I’ll be talking about the differences in specs only. Particularly for the 2 models listed below.

So, what are the Key Differences here?
I’m not seeing huge differences between the two models. And if anything the 2020 version of Swift 5 seems to edge ahead of the Swift 7 in terms of storage space and diversity of ports (if that is what you are looking for).
But taking a closer look at the Swift 7 will show you the increased processor speed and improved battery life of over 2.5 hours. Also, the Swift 7 is thinner than the Swift 5 by 5mm – at the expense of some ports. If you prefer thinness and portability, then the Acer Swift 7 will be the best option for you. The size difference is not that much difference between the two, so it will boil down to the connectivity ports that matter to you.
Which is the better one for me?
Both are Acer-s in the laptop arena and I can’t really choose the best for you. I personally prefer portability and robust battery life – which means I’m likely to go for the Swift 7 even though I’ll be paying a few hundred more. Besides, I don’t need that many connectivity ports so the lack of ports is not too big of an issue for me.
However, if your main objective is connectivity and storage space, then the Acer Swift 5 will be your best choice. You’ll be getting really similar specs and design so you shouldn’t be afraid that you’re losing out on anything.
